Can’t stop looking at all the colours and textures 😍🍂. The only thing missing is the fog (so far).

For a Friday night zoom session with @emmacarlisle_ , I chose a personal still life: my grandmother’s old cabinet that I have in my studio and where I keep all kinds of ‘treasures’, finds, gifts, cards, souvenirs, and a silly number of rocks and bones 😄
It’s funny, the things we keep.

Sketching the early autumn days, an impressive but sad forest find, beekeepers, and testing new materials. I got one Pantone marker, liked it a lot, and ordered a few more 😄 (but can’t get all the colours here in Sweden). I also got Ecoline inks in deep orange (to refill the brush pen) and pastel violet. And a zig kuretake fude pen in vermillion.

Always taking pictures 📷 - especially when walking the dogs and there are scents to explore, so I better not sit down for a sketch 😄
The blue claws surprised me. Aquarium release or colour morph? I don’t know a thing about crayfish.

Seasons changing and changing with them. Tomorrow it’s Oona’s birthday and we’re collecting silver hairs together now 😄❤️
We finally got more rain, and the village gets quieter each week.
I’m spending a lot of time at the studio and in the woods, my thoughts wandering as much as the dogs and I do outside. It feels as if a change or a reconsidering of directions is coming up.

This tiny pencil is ready to retire, don’t you think?
I’ve been enjoying reds these days. Especially Vermillion!
