Upgrade You Episode 1| Tailoring 🪡 • Tailoring really feels like such a small luxury that makes the biggest difference, it instantly elevates your wardrobe and makes everything feel more polished and intentional. Getting pieces altered so they actually fit your body is truly the upgrade I didn’t know I needed, and I’m so glad I started with my jeans because the fit is everything. Next step is cleaning out my closet and making sure every piece I own fits me correctly and aligns with the style I’m growing into. Sisay’s Design and Tailoring in Silver Spring was perfect, he was so accommodating, affordable, and made the whole experience seamless. I can’t wait to be back. by @fentonvillage
ad: beyond excited to partner up with @fentonvillage for day 16 of #100AsianRestaurantsInMaryland! Today’s all about Burmese food. @mandalayrestaurant_’s located in Silver Spring, and they are the REAL deal 🙂 They’ve been open for over 20 years (!!!!), but they’re an IYKYK type spot. Personally, I think they’re highly underrated 🫶 Anywho, here were my fave dishes: ▪️Baya Gyaw aka Gram Fritters ($8.99): yellow split peas, ginger, garlic and cilantro blended then deep fried. These are crispy as can be and served with a tasty dipping sauce‼️ ▪️N06. Nyat KaukSwe Gyaw ($16.99): Flat rice noodles stir-fried with pork or chicken (dark meat), bean sprouts, romaine lettuce, ground peanuts, and topped with egg. I got mine with chicken and I asked for spicy, and it was SPICY. This was a bit more mild in flavor but it went well with my spread🙂 ▪️Pork & Pickled Mango Hin ($19.99): Pork simmered in pickled mango onion–based curry. Guys. This was next level. I loved this dish SO much. The meat was so tender, and it was so flavorful. I asked for spicy, and it packed HEAT! 10/10 recommend. They also have this with chicken or veggies if you don’t eat pork✨ ▪️SweJi ($4.99): crazy delicious dessert! It’s a sweet semolina pudding of sorts. It’s rich and nutty with this gentle butteriness I couldn’t get enough of. You guys HAVE to try it, lol. I promise you’ll love it. This alone is worth the drive 😂 Have you guys tried Burmese food before?
