✜ Buckskin Coat ✜……………………………………………………………………….Wrapped in beautiful skins to buffer against the cold and blowing winds. What an honor it is to craft with my hands and heart and help these deer kin to jump up and live again. ………………………………………………………………………This coat has taken me on quite a journey to create! I started tanning the hides for it 3 years ago, and it took about 5 hides to create. Getting the pattern right definitely took some trial and error. And not to mention the countless hours of sewing. A labor of love and care! ………………………………………………………………………….Made from brain and bark tanned mule and white tail deer. The wild rose appliqué was sewn with elk sinew. TW: Baby loss and Parent lossI don’t normally post this kind of vulnerable content but I’m reaching out to share some heart breaking news. Last week I miscarried my baby boy Bradan James at 16 weeks. My partner and I are devastated. We are taking time to grieve and recover from this tragic event. I took this picture of my bump just two days before the miscarriage. I feel so much compassion for anybody who has ever had this experience. About 6 months ago I also lost my father, Timothy Patrick. Him and I were very close and his death has been a huge loss for me. Strangely my son’s due date was in the same month that my father was born and died. Life and death are so deeply connected and yet there is can be so much mystery as to why things happen as they do. Please hold my partner and I tenderly in this time. Prayers and blessings for our loss, our healing and for the future of family are welcome. Thank you so much ♥️ by @feral.folk.ways
