hi internet!

got a new surge of followers for some reason, so figured i’d introduce myself.

i’m allie, and i contain multitudes. i’m a seasoned raver/absolute goblin, a really good mother, an artist, and practitioner of the healing arts. My work lives at the intersection of bodywork, sound therapy, psychedelics, and somatic practices.

everyday, in everything i do, i’m always thinking how can i dismantle the patriarchy? this work is really about starting with where it’s taken root inside each of us.

each breath is an opportunity to slow down, resist urgency, soften, and build the world we want from the inside out.

forever trying to put words to something that really just needs to be experienced. come get on my table and practice the art of being with yourself in the company of another. you might just walk away a little more fluent in feeling.

back at work today after a couple weeks off (doing my other job) and was reminded just how grateful i am to do bodywork for a living. i love getting quiet enough to listen to the ecosystem of the body, each individual a whole unique world. a liquid meat suit powered by electricity and emotions and chemical reactions… home to billions of other microscopic organisms. yall are walking miracles, thanks for letting me witness you. by @feral.wellness

nature doesn’t hurry, so most bodies respond best to a snail’s pace. as a society we’re constantly overstimulated and acting with some subconscious sense of urgency. bodywork can be an invitation to find stillness and narrow your focus to a single point, and stay there. it’s good for the busy mind, and here’s what happens in your body:

At 30 seconds, mechanoreceptors in the fascia notice sustained pressure and send signals to the nervous system to reduce muscle tension. CUE SOFTENING

Between 90 seconds and 2 minutes, your fascia warms and becomes more fluid than fixed. this is called thixotropy, when the substance surrounding collagen fibers turn from a viscous gel into a liquid, increasing glide between layers. CUE SHIFTING

At 3-5 minutes, fibroblasts (the cells responsible for producing and organizing collagen) begin remodeling. This is mechanotransduction: the body responding, and translating input into cellular-level change. CUE TRANSFORMATION

so the next time you’re on my table and catch yourself bored, wondering what comes next, and thinking could i please DO something… remember your beautiful and intelligent body is the one doing all the work, just try to get quiet enough to hear it. by @feral.wellness

become more fluent in feeling ✨🫠💕

increase your capacity to feel joy, increase your capacity to feel pain. slow down and become present enough to notice the full spectrum of your felt sense.

simple yet profound, yeah? by @feral.wellness

“It is not your duty to finish the work, but neither are you at liberty to neglect it”….
i don’t usually quote old religious texts but this one slaps, especially on this lunar new year/new moon/ eclipse portal.

each of us is responsible for tending to our little corner of the universe- internally and externally. making time for inner healing is the foundation of any external work we do. deeply listening to your body with quiet presence is a way to access the inherent wisdom of nature and remember the interdependent nature of the universe. softening your innerscape allows you to move in integrity and align all your actions from this place of deep connection and love.

the work we do together isn’t about embodying systems of control and urgency. there’s nothing to fix because you’re not broken. it’s all about returning to and deeply listening to the the wisdom of your beautiful body.

the practice of presence just might change your life idk

next event is at @kotisaunapdx !!

combining my favorite things, sauna, springtime, and sound 🌷🧖‍♀️💕

leisurely cycle between the sauna and cold plunge, sip tea around the fire…. and then finish the night with a dreamy plant powered sound bath.

@plantwave in collaboration with a plant in bloom will provide the soundscape, while i provide individualized hands on touch and tuning fork therapy to each participant.

i promise you’ll leave grounded, replenished, and ready to bloom yourself.

checking in with some pre solstice life updates.

winter is a time for subtraction- doing less, not adding more. i committed to aligning with this season to bring me closer to nature and further from this capitalist hellscape.

so i decided to quit *everything* this month. caffeine, nicotine, weed, alcohol, instagram (my personal page, not this one)

caffeine was intimidating. i decided if i got really tired, id just rest. i gave myself permission for more naps, less productivity- all the projects percolating can wait til next year. i did keep an emergency mate in my bag for the first couple weeks, but never needed it.

the cold weather made it easier to forego my evening spliff habit, and sipping NA bevies when out socializing didn’t feel like such a big deal.

IG has been hard, and i catch myself scrolling on here even when i told myself it was only for business purposes.

ultimately my goal was to feel my feelings fully without reaching for something to change my mental or emotional state. i’ve been more aware of my natural hormonal ebbs and flows, and leaning into these cycles feels like another layer of alignment with nature through my body and its relationship with the moon. i’ve been slipping into moments of deep potent sadness- and allowing myself to sit in it without trying to get back to a happy productive baseline has been profound.

it’s been a lot of processing, feeling, breaking down parts of myself that were ready to crumble. a season of shadow work, preparing to sprout new growth when the time is right.

hope y’all are out there resting deeply, giving yourself grace, and space to feel whatever is alive in you.

with love 🖤
