“Some believe it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love.”

I’ve done it again! I’ve made Bilbo’s hobbit home as requested by a friend for a bridal shower! Don’t have to ask me twice! It felt good reminiscing over the first loaf I made, how nervous I was on how I was going to make it to now making it again and realizing it was like riding a bike!

@wiremonkeyshop poco lame made it soooo much easier to score this time around!

I’m so excited to announce that I will be co-hosting July’s challenge #birdsonbread with @artbreadlove
Renee’s challenges provided me with so much inspiration since I started my Instagram journey last year and pushed me to try new things with sourdough art! I can’t wait to create more and to see what you all create as well!

@wiremonkeyshop poco lame, ufo lame, and goose lame were all used for this project!

My bat loaf that wowed me more on the inside than outside! More about my flour journey to come but let’s admire how cool this crumb turned out! I used a black gel food coloring and activated charcoal. I added the colorings during the 4th coil because I had forgotten to add sooner. This took 5 coils in total. 92% hydration.

@bake.lanon graciously sent me their gloves for #lanonpinkmonth so of course I had to make my pink loaf for the cause! Lanon will donate money towards @livingbeyondbc to support breast cancer with your entry! Make anything with pink and don’t forget to tag lanon!

Thank you @dinewithle @yanasbreadbox @southernbellebreadco for hosting this wonderful challenge!

Turmeric sourdough! This came out better than I imagined and I’m so happy! I wanted a more marbled effect so I sprinkled turmeric powder throughout the coils. It tasted different than regular sourdough but not like turmeric. Can’t describe it but everyone ate it no complaints so it was a success!

I did the same process I always do. Overnight autolyse, Fermentolyse, lamination, 5 coils. 92% hydration.

Happy Hobbit Day! What’s a hobbit day without a hobbit loaf?! I think Frodo will approve of this one! This was inspired by a @lordoftherings bag I saw at @boxlunchgifts

The Fellowship of the bread. I’m on the search for the crumb of power 💀

My flour has been a conundrum all summer and I’m about to write it off as this bag of flour. Based on the crumb you’d be surprised to find out that was 89% hydration and my usual technique that’s provided tons of beautiful open crumbs. But ever since this new bag, everything is different… 🤔
