We had so much fun running visuals for @fern_murphy_band last Thursday at the @thehifiindy! We were running dual projectors to create an immersive atmosphere. It was a fun challenging project and we are happy with the results. Here’s some screen content and a few clips wide angle shots capturing the full set. The recorder we used to capture our set is kinda lofi but still wanted to share some of it with you.

Fern Murphy released their sophomore album, “via negative,” on Friday, July 31. This Thursday, Aug. 6th, tune into The Velvet Hum on DKFM Shoegaze Radio to hear an interview with three members of the band about their beginnings and some of the background on how this latest release came about.
The show begins at 10 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. PDT and repeats 12 hours later. Go to www.decayfm.com or download the app. It will be archived in future months on Mixcloud.
I’m also airing a world premiere of a song from the new LP by Indoor Voices of Toronto. That LP is called “Terrors” and releases Aug. 31. I’ve already heard the whole thing, and it’s really, really good.
Special thanks to John Emslie for helping me curate bands from Indiana. I promise you there are some new bands you’ve never heard of on the show.

Tonight at midnight, our second album, via negative, is finally out.

I can’t begin to express how grateful I am to be releasing another record with my friends and bandmates. Moments like this are precious, the culmination of months, and even years, of hard work, patience, and dedication.

It’s been quite a peregrination, and I couldn’t have chosen better people to share it with. My only hope is that, in listening, you feel even a small measure of what we felt while making it.

Thank you all for the support. We love you, and hopefully we’ll see you soon.
