ADAC Hannover Marathon: My first marathon ever was such a great experience! Without expecting it, I finished with an official time of 3:55:44 (an average pace of 5:35 min/km).

I’m not someone who has played sports for years, nor am I a pro. I only started running about a year ago because some good friends of mine do it. Two years ago, I attended a marathon for the first time to cheer them on, and I simply loved the vibes.

I moved to Germany from my home country 10 months ago, and the spirit behind moving to a new place was to rebuild myself: to become a better person, find myself, and improve in every possible way.

I had so much fun during this run, something I never thought I could accomplish. I ran the whole time with a smile on my face. I didn’t really check my watch, so it was a wonderful surprise to realize I’d achieved a Sub-4 hour marathon.

Having good friends there and receiving so many supportive messages made me feel great! But more importantly, I proved two things to myself:

1. I can do it. I am capable of achieving great things.
2. I have a community. After just one year in Germany, I have people here who truly matter.

I really enjoyed the experience and I’m excited to see what comes next and where this journey takes me. Thank you to everyone who showed up and supported me.
