Fern Apfel layers everyday correspondence — letters, handwritten notes, scraps pulled from the bottom of a drawer — until the familiar shapes of paper start to carry the weight of everything left unsaid. Parts disappear. Parts stay readable. I wonder who sent what to whom, and did they ever write back?

This event accompanies “Seen Scenes”—CREATE’s 2026 member show at the Kinderhook Knitting Mill—a series of public programs designed to expand engagement, foster community, and highlight artistic practices!
