Weekend wrap up including stumbling on a drone show, going to the Honolulu Pride Parade, and volunteering at the Waikiki Swim Club Guess Your Time swim this morning where a very green monk seal was sleeping on the beach. Enjoyable. by @fernhoff
Not too hot, not too cold, perfect for a sunset stroll by @fernhoff
Calm on O’ahu after a night of stormy weather. I am crying on the inside for Kaua’i, the first island I ever visited but grateful that Lowell did not do more damage to Hawai’i island or much damage to O’ahu. by @fernhoff
Blustery but beautiful by @fernhoff
A different kind of flower than you normally see in Hawaii… So many bees pollinating and some birds trying to sneak sunflower seeds. The farm animals were a hoot too. Mahalo @waimanalocountryfarms for the afternoon amusement! by @fernhoff
Some good fireworks for the 4th! And I am so glad I didn’t have to go down to Waikiki to see them. 😀 by @fernhoff
What a delightful day at Koko Crater Botanicla Garden. I wanted to see the plumeria grove because the tree next to my house was in full bloom so I figured these might be popping out too. Gorgeous colors! Beautiful shapes. Delightful fragrances (nothing like plumeria scents in manufactured items). The rest of the garden has treasures too but we only made it to the cactus garden before smarter heads prevailed and we turned around to save ourselves from sunburns. by @fernhoff
It’s #FlashbackFriday and Friday alliterates with flower, so I’m featuring all the flowers I took picture of in Italy from poppies to irises to hibiscus! Some were in formal gardens, others in home gardens and some just growing wild. Even the thistles were pretty! by @fernhoff
I have hundreds of photos from Cortona but here is the antipasti sampler for you! What a charming town full of churches, gelato shops, and even a vegan restaurant! by @fernhoff
I took a break from posting while in Cortona but we did a day trip to Siena and that deserves a post! The Duomo is so magnificent in its stripeyness. We took the Porta Del Cielo tour so we went up in the roof and outside for views from above. 🖤🤍🖤 by @fernhoff
Winged lions are all over Venice as the symbol of the city and its patron saint San Marco. From what I have read, they symbolize strength and divine authority. The one of the column in front of the Doge reportedly used copper that came from China. I just think they are cute! Especially the ones from across eras at the Arsenale. by @fernhoff
48 hours in Venice - hit the two big tourist locations, enjoyed good food and even better gelato, and explored the walkways big and small. The high season is just starting and weather is getting hot! Grazie mille Venezia per la bella visita. by @fernhoff
