We are deeply saddened to share that we’ve lost one of our own — Cody Franke, Class of 2016 Professional Golf Management.

Cody was more than a classmate, more than a colleague — he was a friend to everyone he met. He was one of the nicest and most genuine people you could ever know. His love for the game and his kindness toward others left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Cody was planning to return to Big Rapids next semester to give a seminar to our current students - continuing to give back to the program that meant so much to him. Not long along, he told us, “Coming to Ferris State was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”

The game of golf, our Ferris State PGM family, and everyone lucky enough to know him lost someone truly special. Cody made this world better. Thank you for everything you gave — the laughs, the lessons, and the light you brought into our lives.

Rest easy, our friend. You will never be forgotten.

While at CHCC Caden received a wonderful learning experience from a great professional staff. During his 3 months, he was hands on in all operations such as, junior golf, tournament operations, merchandising, club repair, and plenty of playing and practice opportunities. Caden said that the mentorship he received was outstanding and more than he expected. He firmly believes that because of his internship at Cascade Hills, he is better prepared and confident for his next internship at Fox Chapel Golf Club!

“ This internship was more than expected and really helped me grow as an individual and Golf Professional.”

A heartfelt thank you to the entire Cascade Hills Country Club team for giving Caden such a meaningful, growth‑focused internship experience. by @ferrisstate.pgm

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to return to my alma mater, Ferris State University, and speak with the next generation of PGA Professionals.

It’s always special to return to a place that played such an important role in shaping your career, but even more meaningful to have the opportunity to influence those who are just beginning theirs.

I shared some of my journey, the lessons learned along the way, the risks taken, the failures, and the opportunities that ultimately helped shape what SMARTGOLF has become today.

If there’s one thing I hope these students took away, it’s that there is no single path to success in this industry. Be willing to challenge conventional thinking, set high standards for yourself, and have the courage to pursue something you believe in.

Grateful to the Ferris State PGM program for the invitation and to the students for their time, attention, and thoughtful questions.

The future of our industry is in their hands, and it’s a privilege to play even a small part in helping shape it. by @ferrisstate.pgm

Our ladies got to compete in the inaugural Dormie Network PGM Women’s Championship at @quarryoaksgolfclub. Thank you for hosting us this week!

Thank you to @dormienetwork for providing an industry panel featuring women as part of this networking event. This was a great opportunity to network, learn, and compete alongside other women in the golf industry!

Our Bulldogs competed very hard:
🏌️‍♀️ Day One: Scramble format — scores of 67 and 80
🏌️‍♀️ Day Two: Best Ball format — scores of 71 and 78

These scores put us in 5th place out of 8 teams and only one shot out of 3rd!

We’re proud of our Bulldogs and all the hard work they put in this week! taken in Quarry Oaks Golf Club by @ferrisstate.pgm
