Hi / Saludos! It’s time for a re-intro for “Hispanic Heritage month” ✨

I am the only bilingual/ female Méxican American ABORM fellow (Acupuncture & TCM Board of Reproductive Medicine) in El Paso and Texas, too. (This obviously needs to change.) I believe that people should not suffer during their menstrual cycle & improving fertility starts with both the follicle & sperm quality. Fertility is truly a team effort 💕

I have struggled with my own fertility and menstrual issues. I was able to find healing through acupuncture/ TCM and community. It took time and it was worth the effort 💫

Here are a few things I hold close to my heart/ spirit:
✨ I am grateful for the medicine plants/ Earth give us
✨ I am grateful for my patients that trust in me & TCM
✨ I am grateful for ancestral food because it heals

When I found out my DNA is mostly indigenous much of my decisions and life started to make much more sense ✨ It explained why I fell in love with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM aka East Asian Medicine) and all of its natural healing it can provide. When I am not seeing patients I enjoy walking my dog, listening to a memoir, eating pan dulce, and relaxing in my hammock looking at the clouds while I dream of a world filled with peace + care 💓

This blouse in my pic was given to me by a Tía and it’s decades old… it helps keep me grounded 🥰

This patient came to me at 39 weeks pregnant because she did not want to go passed her due date. Since she came to me later in her pregnancy - I decided to add e- stim to her acupuncture needles in order for her to “ease labor” since she can later to see me than generally recommended.

Ideally, for ease labor I recommend 1 treatment a week for the last 4-5 weeks of pregnancy🤰🏻

In the last weeks of pregnancy, acupuncture will increase blood flow to the uterus, ensure baby is in optimal head-down position, and prepare for a smooth birth.

In a study of over 300 women, an Ease Labor series helped:

✨ ripen the cervix
✨ reduce duration of labor
✨ reduce stress and anxiety

Feeling extra grateful I get to read texts like this ✨🫶🏽✨

This is how this COUPLE got a positive pregnancy test 🤓

✅ listened to their RE (IVF) Dr. - suggested acupuncture
✅ both came and started seeing me for weekly acupuncture
✅ both started taking herbs daily
✅ both worked on reducing stress
✅ both made lifestyle choices to optimize fertility (no alcohol)
✅ both knew this would be a team effort to improve fertility

Optimizing fertility is best when both male and female do their part. They each saw me for 10 sessions and did their part to improve their overall health ✨

I am incredibly happy for BOTH of them!! YES they were prepping for IVF and had a big surprise last week! They worked hard to make this positive pregnancy test 🫶🏽

She is continuing acupuncture through the first trimester to prevent loss and pregnancy symptoms 💓

Issues acupuncture can help with during pregnancy:

✨ placenta previa
✨ wrist pain (any pain!!)
✨ headaches/ migraines
✨ nausea/ vomiting
✨ heart burn/ reflux
✨ round ligament pain
✨ breech baby presentation
✨ threatened miscarriage
✨ constipation
✨ hand/ feet swelling
✨ and so much more

Acupuncture is wonderful at increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation. While also decreasing cortisol (stress hormone.)

Issues acupuncture can help with during pregnancy:

✨ high blood pressure
✨ spotting
✨ round ligament pain
✨ placenta previa
✨ migraines/ headache

Unfortunately, Tylenol and rest is not enough. This is when acupuncture/ TCM can really be helpful while being safe for you and baby. While even relaxing your nervous system 💗

Today is Indigenous People’s Day and I want to share a few of my favorite historic Indigenous people.

Indigenous people have disproportionately suffered too much in our country’s history and continuous suffering… I want to bring positive attention to past and current Indigenous People that are important to acknowledge and learn a bit more about.

💗 Rosalie Fish: Is a member of the Cowlitz tribe. Rosalie garnered media attention in 2019 when, at a track meet, she competed with a red handprint painted over her mouth. The handprint was to honor and bring attention to the missing and murdered Indigenous women crisis.

💗 Deborah Haaland: she’s a powerhouse. The first Indigenous person to serve as the 54th US Secretary of the Interior. She’s an important voice that represents her people in DC.

💗 Quannah Chasinghorse: She is an Indigenous model and land protector/ activist. She was the first Indigenous person to attend the Met Gala. As she represents her people while working in the fashion industry and stays true to her family’s heritage.
