POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
We’re starting a podcast! From The Archives, a new video podcast devoted to the untold stories of great music, and the people who made it.

From The Archives goes beyond crate digging to find where the music actually began: the musicians, songwriters, studios, indie labels, record stores and regional scenes that existed long before the records became collectible pieces of plastic.

The stories involve child prodigies and regional greats, legendary record stores and missed opportunities, political movements, industry heartbreak and even murder. Together, they reveal a thriving music culture that existed beyond the hits, stars and histories everybody already knows.

Each episode traces one of those musical ecosystems from the original recording to its unlikely second life decades later. Every season explores a different genre; every episode visits another city and another story buried inside the Fervor archives.

Mark your calendar! The first episode premieres on November 3rd! by @fervor_records

In the mid-1970s, Trish Robbins and The Mirrors played hundreds of gigs around the San Francisco Bay Area. The band opened for such iconic acts as Jefferson Airplane and The Grateful Dead at Bill Graham’s legendary Winterland Ballroom. They recorded a number of songs that were unreleased until we dug through the archives to find their incredible recordings. The popular Soul band featured Robbins on lead vocals, along with vocalist Jill Bergman, and keyboardist David Kessner leading the killer rhythm and horn sections. Forward 50 years later, Canadian Artist Five Seven turned the eclectic soul into an infectious sampled masterpiece. Comment "Fervor" and we will send the original and the Five Seven Remix by @fervor_records

Al Casey is a pioneer of one of the most recognizable guitar tones of all time. That surf rock twang! Primed with experience as a member of LA’s legendary wrecking crew, he recorded one of the greatest surf rock albums of the 1960s: Surfin’ Hootenanny (1963). Reverb-drenched, jangly, and packed with explosive energy, this album is a masterclass in 60’s guitar tone that would define a genre. During the bulk of his career Casey worked with a veritable who’s who of iconic artists, songwriters and producers providing guitar for the likes of the Beach Boys, Phil Spector, Elvis Presley, The Monkees, Johnny Cash, Simon & Garfunkel, Glen Campbell and Frank and Nancy Sinatra to name a few. Produced by Lee Hazlewood - made in homage to surf rock icons Duane Eddy, Dick Dale, and The Ventures, you can listen to the full album now. by @fervor_records

Not every day you get a random phone call that leads to a box of lost polka tapes ending up on your front doorstep… but that’s exactly what happened here! What we unearthed was pure folk magic.

Rapid-fire accordion runs, driving rhythms, and that unmistakable, bouncy polka energy. Remastered straight from the original tapes, these recordings preserve the crisp, warm, and joyous sound of Säkkijärven Polkka exactly as Iggy intended. Just in time for Oktoberfest too! Comment “Polka” and I’ll DM you the album along with our Polka playlist! by @fervor_records

If you’re digging for lost early 2000’s Americana and overlooked songwriting grails, Los Guys is for you. After stepping out of the major-label shadow of The Pistoleros, Mark Zubia launched Los Guys in 1994 over a Sunday beer glow at Long Wong’s. Their manifesto? Zero band meetings. No rehearsals. Learn everything live on stage. Years later, Fervor Records is proud to present the self titled, deep cut album from Tempe’s own Los Guys. by @fervor_records

Here at Fervor Records we’re proud to present to you songs from their classic album “No Rest For The Wicked” and some stellar live recordings from 1976. by @fervor_records
