🌈 ⚑ NEW REEL ALERT 🌈 ⚑ FESO REEL 2024 is ON! After a year of many cool projects I can't publish, here's my new reel with some exciting work done throughout the last 12 months and a couple of personal projects I crafted between jobs! These 50 seconds represent a moment when I felt more at ease with 3D and could focus even more on exploring movement and different compositions in general. Ultimately, it was also an opportunity to create a new intro and brand representation, mixing 2D and 3D β€” something explosive, with much energy, and straight to the point. It's the fifth showreel in my career, and those who follow the same path know how much it means and how it feels good to release it after so much work. It represents so much for us! I'm especially happy to release this before my son/daughter is born. If not, I would use my older reel for quite a while! 🀣 You can check the full Behance project with GIFS and all the good stuff. [🎧 SOUND ON] I honestly don't know how I managed to do this while wrapping up all the clients' end of the year projects and a 4 month old baby! I'm not sure I'm even awake! But I had to do something to me between syringe feeding and corporative animations, and it had to be something drawn, something cozy and simple. I couldn't be more grateful for 2023 and this #artvsartist. πŸŽ‡ A year that started with crazy health issues and required so many changes to strive through it. Professionally, I had the biggest challenge I've ever had in a project, and we pulled it off. Motion-wise, between Q3 and Q4, I didn't lose the opportunity to accomplish personal ideas between jobs, almost always in 3D. That really surrounded me this year, happily! I will put some more client work in my next reel, celebrating 2 years of full-time freelancing. As an animator, I always try to balance artistic and financial freedom better. I spent some time trying different strategies to feel accomplished with my projects, and now I can say have learned something. I don't want to stay in between hell and heaven projects. I like to play both separately. Joey Korenman planted this seed in my mind in 2021, and now I see how we need to set priority levels on low-to-zero budget projects where we are just having fun. This process changes the machine's oil and keeps us running smoothly while we have our day-to-day client projects. I actually did it my whole life, with my punk bands, my sticks rumbling here and there, taking our creativity outside the paycheck world seriously. Seeing how it translates so well in our professional lives is funny. Doing this lyric video for one of my old bandmates was another way to reassess this thought. And I will keep doing it, along with my personal loops and music. I played with simple shapes and rough textures to create something textured, fun, and red. [πŸ”Š 𝙨𝙀π™ͺ𝙣𝙙 𝙀𝙣] Caring rounds! πŸ”΄β€πŸŸ  This time, I had to step out of C4D. Leaving a bit of the procedural mindset, going back to basics and exploring some texture and abstract ideas, building a calming environment with round-shaped live forms... that was the idea of this new loop experiment. One of the funniest parts was doing the sound effects using Boombox by Mt. Mograph.
