Twenty minutes weaving through the crowd can mess up your carefully planned festival day.

We’re on the grass at Download 2026, talking about packed stages, clashes and whether a bigger arena makes for a better weekend. Plus Architects’ interrupted set and Rob’s explanation for getting absolutely no sleep.

How did you find it this year? What would you keep or change about the arena?

Festpod episode 92 is out now - you can watch it on our website.

You’ve planned your bands but have you left time for the walk between them?
Our very tired @downloadfest reminder is to leave time for the walk, AND the crowd in the way.

Five days at Download and we’ve officially reached the sitting-on-the-grass stage.

So it’s the final day of @downloadfest 2026, and we’re running on fumes! We’re talking about Architects’ repeatedly interrupted set, the absolute madness of Self Deception, and the difficult decisions between Scooter, A Day To Remember and Bad Omens.

Plus, Rob’s somehow survived another night with practically no sleep, and Neill explains why he was too scared to approach a member of Sleep Token. 👀

Nine years between releases is quite a big gap, but the Dutch melodic death metal band @the_heritance_official have finally got some new music for us.

Their new single, Fear of Collision, gives us melodic riffs, heavy grooves and blast beats, with @goddethroned_official‘s Henri Sattler handling the mixing and mastering.
And there’s more on the way. The band’s next album, Ominous Order of the Infidel, is expected in 2027.

We’ve got the details, along with the new music video, over on Festpod.

Read the full story and watch the video on our website.

You only get one 40th. Might as well make it last all year. 🍻

Neill’s talking posh campervans, birthday treats and the danger of getting a bit too used to festival comforts.

Then @downloadfest reminds us we’re still in a field. 💨🎥

From Festpod 91, recorded in the RIP guest area at Download 2026.

THE MECHANIST ARE PLAYING NOVACAINE FESTIVAL 2026! 🔥

Formed in the industrial heart of Leeds, The Mechanist have been causing absolute technical destruction across the UK and beyond, leaving chaos in their wake wherever they go and speakers begging for mercy wherever they're played. 💥

Since the release of their latest album 'Synthetic Sun' earlier this year, the band have been on a serious upward trajectory, quickly establishing themselves as one of the UK's most exciting rising metal acts.

Now, they're bringing that chaos to Novacaine Festival 2026 and they're ready to tear the pit apart! 🤘

Oh, and they'll be bringing free biscuits.

Yes. You read that correctly. 🍪

THE MECHANIST. NOVACAINE FESTIVAL 2026.
