“Fleet of Foxes” 24”x30” acrylic on canvas

Happy Friday! This painting was inspired by a recent @fleetfoxes concert I attended at the @greek_theatre , one of my favorite LA venues! When @robinpecknold said this was his favorite venue and said the crowd was packed with family & friends, I knew we were in for a good night. I actually did theater as a child in Milwaukee. And although this was on a completely different scale, those performances when someone you love or care about is in the audience are so special. There’s an extra energy and it’s wonderful! That combined with Fleet Foxes legendary lyrics and the amazing visuals and palette of the show, really inspired me. The Greek also is literally built into Griffith park in such a way, where it’s always felt like a secret forest. I wanted to combine the feeling of being there with the spirited foxes that might be the subject of “white winter hymnal” or might just be in the forest like “I’ve heard there are foxes playing tonight? They don’t look like foxes and I didn’t even know we could play guitar with these paws!” (I especially feel as though orange fox may be trying to figure out how this magic is done)

Belated Mother’s Day post to my phenomenal mom @sharonwolfsohn who was an art director who pivoted to a wfh business of her own so she could be with us. Because of her sacrifices and chauffeur services I was able to do theater downtown and meet so many great humans. Seeing her work in the art world and going to her friends’ shows inspired me and made an abstract idea a real thing I could dream about. Thanks for decorating my room on my birthday, for inflating 30-40 neon plastic bunnies to line the steps on Easter, and for not just giving me my first American girl , but for setting up Molly’s accessories in a very theatrical way! My mom’s made my life a whole palette 🎨 of colors!

Thanks, mom! I love you!

Thank you to @losruanogallery and @rizocorpgallery for including me in your show 💙 it goes through tonight and I am proud to be featured along with such talented artists!!

Thank you to the artists I spoke with and who shared your art with me, including two people who work at my favorite @blickartmaterials on #lincoln !! Also, shout out to technical support because they’ve patiently and kindly helped me with so many supplies questions!! 😅

And thank you to my family. My husband, @hilarion_i_am_your_father who loves and supports me so much and is just casually an incredible photographer and who is my marketing department! Thank you to my mom, @sharonwolfsohn , an artist herself. Whose career as an art director and talent always inspired me and whose friendships with and exposure to talented artists both at festivals and museums were such a gift!! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I am very proud to share a painting of my grandpa in this show… it’s called “Grandpa’s Grasshoppers” and I wore his jacket to the show! Thank you for coming to my theater performances! I miss you and thank you for teaching me kings corners and the proper words to frosty the snowman!

I have a hard time making choices so I scaled down, cut and drew these little minis of my pieces I’m considering. Cut out the gallery space size I have for the group show Nov 6-9 with @losruanogallery at @rizocorpgallery !! Can’t wait to show with other artists!!!!
