Every now and then, the world accidentally gets something right.

This summer, it happened in New York.

And it started before we even landed.
Blumengarten and KitschKrieg on the same flight to NYC. A few weeks later, they seemed to be everywhere. 😉 Germany’s best export this World Cup summer.

Definitely more successful than our national team. Unfortunately.

Germany vs. Ecuador wasn’t exactly the evening I had imagined. But then Jon Bon Jovi casually appeared in the stands. So there was that. Still surreal.

And somewhere in between all of this: @homeoffootballnyc.

Our friend Josh, together with Timmy, created something pretty special in the middle of Manhattan. Fetsum and I were lucky to become part of its first chapter and hopefully help lay the foundation for much more to come.

These are just a few fragments from those first weeks.

People. Places. Football. New York being New York. And my brother and partner Fetsum by my side through all of it.

I love what I do. And I never take for granted that encounters like these somehow get to be part of it.

New York City. The World Cup. A room full of founders, investors and changemakers.

Last week we hosted a special Executive Dinner with @ipotentials and @fetsumofficial & @teddy.the.teacher (@pxpone ) at the #HomeofFootball.

We talked about what it takes to lead through transformation and stay future ready in uncertain times. The location gave us a beautiful lense: High performing teams that endure don’t overhaul everything at once. Season after season they ask: What does the next chapter need, which skills are missing, where must the team grow? Then they make deliberate, often uncomfortable decisions. Because winning teams don’t just have talent. They make talent work together: Resilience, ambition, many perspectives, one shared direction. That’s what great leadership unlocks.

Thank you @fetsumofficial for co-hosting and @jmurphy1810 for opeing the doors of the #HomeofFootball and guiding us through this incredible space of soccer history. To everyone who joined: Thank you for your openness and making this evening a special experience.

If there’s one thing I’ve been learning to embrace lately, it’s uncertainty. Life unfolds in ways we can’t predict. The unknown isn’t the enemy, it’s an opportunity to be present without judgement, an exercise in loving yourself as you are in the very moment. So I’m learning to lean in, to trust the journey, to trust life… and ultimately, to trust God.

Über 55.000 Besucher:innen, ein Wochenende voller Kultur, Begegnung und Zukunftsvisionen.
Als @pxpone sind wir stolz, mit unseren Co-Foundern @fetsumofficial und @teddy.the.teacher, die Open-Air-Bühne auf der @museumsinselberlin im Rahmen des 200-Jahre-Jubiläums sowie das @flixtrain “Life on the Island” Event in der James-Simon-Galerie kuratiert und organisiert zu haben.

Von der Komischen Oper bis @patricebartwilliams, von Performances der Volksbühne bis zu @jazzanova_berlin und dem @swimgoodforever DJ-Kollektiv: Unser kuratiertes Programm wurde zu einem integralen Bestandteil eines Festwochenendes, das viele – darunter auch die neue SPK-Präsidentin Marion Ackermann – als “Auftakt nach Maß” bezeichneten.

Gemeinsam mit der @spkberlin und @flixtrain ist ein Format entstanden, das klassische Kultur und zeitgenössische Popkultur auf Augenhöhe zusammenbringt – offen, inklusiv und mitten im öffentlichen Raum.

Danke an alle Partner:innen, Künstler:innen, Unterstützer:innen und unser PxP ONE Team – und vor allem an alle, die da waren und diesen Moment mit Leben gefüllt haben.

Last night at the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund Gala at the iconic Palais Bulles in Cannes, I found myself surrounded by brilliant minds—visionaries from all corners of the world and industries, each driven by purpose and courage.

Moments like these always bring me back to my roots. To the power of education. To the truth that your story, your purpose, your authenticity, and your belief can open any door—no matter where you started.

As Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Let’s keep changing it—together.

Wir sind immer noch hin & weg vom gestrigen Abend.

Die Premiere unserer PxP FUTURE GOALS GALA hat stattgefunden und war ein voller Erfolg. Am Tag vor dem EURO 2024 Finale, zusammen mit unserem Schirmherrn & Fussballweltmeister @sami_khedira6, unseren Co-Initiatoren @jmurphy1810 und Darius Niroumand, und unserem Ehrengast Phil D. Murphy, Gouverneur von New Jersey, innerhalb von 3,5 Monaten einen Event unter dem Motto ‚EDUCATION POWERED BY FOOTBALL‘ umzusetzen, ist einfach der Wahnsinn. Ein besonderer Dank gilt unserem Dream-Team um @_jz_3, Sarah Sheikh, @ilka.peemoeller, @jensnink, dem Team vom @fotografiska.berlin uvm.

Wer @fetsumofficial kennt, der weiß, dass jede Begegnung mit ihm ein Highlight voller Menschlichkeit ist! – und wer mich kennt, weiß, dass ich nicht so oft auf Social Media poste und für unsere Organisationen @hawar.help und @germandream.de lieber auf der Hinterbühne aktiv bin, um an Lösungen auf Organisationsebene zu arbeiten.

Dabei freut es mich sehr, dass ich mich bei Herausforderungen und Hürden, die auftauchen, immer auf Bündnisse und Netzwerke verlassen kann, die über die Jahre gewachsen sind!

Darum ein paar Worte (und Bilder) zu diesem wunderbaren Abend: Fetsum und Teddy luden ein zu einem Dinner, bei dem wir über #bildung und #chancen sprachen und wie wir Kräfte bündeln, um auf diesem Gebiet etwas voran zu bringen.

Besonders das Gespräch mit @laurafrigenti , CEO von @gpforeducation hallt noch nach.

Auch mit dabei waren die Herzensmenschen @balbina_nanana , @katjariemann , @maxherreofficial und die wunderbaren KollegInnen von @pxpone @pxpfestival, bei denen ich mich für den inspirierenden Abend bedanke! ❣️

Ich bin immer noch tief bewegt von allen Begegnungen, Wort- & Musikbeiträgen beim gestrigen GERMAN DREAM Award. Was @duzentekkal , @tugbatekkal, @tuelintekkal und @tezcantekkal mit Ihren Organisationen @hawar.help & @hawar.scoringgirls , und ihrem unermüdlichen Einsatz für Menschenrechte leisten, ist unglaublich.

Als dann Margot Friedländer mit dem Ehrenpreis bedacht wurde und folgenden Satz sagte, blieb kein Auge trocken:

„Es gibt kein christliches, jüdisches oder muslimisches Blut. Es gibt nur menschliches Blut. Das ist mein innigster Wunsch: Seid Mensch!“

Was eigentlich klar sein sollte, klingt aus dem Munde einer 102-jährigen Holocaustüberlebenden kommend, anders nach.

Die Frage ist nicht ob, sondern wie war alle gemeinsam, trotz allem, ‚Mensch‘ bleiben wollen?

Es gilt heute vielleicht mehr denn je.
