There is a silence that exists only after words have lost their meaning.

Les Promesses Rompues unfolds as a visual meditation through the quiet landscapes of Villa Borghese, where still waters, ancient trees, and soft light become the silent witnesses of everything left unsaid. Far from the rhythm of the city, nature transforms into a sanctuary where absence is no longer something to escape, but something to embrace.

This editorial film by Alessandro Sabeone and Isabella Feudo explores the delicate space between expectation and surrender. Every broken promise leaves an invisible imprint, shaping not only our memories but also the way we move through the world. Here, waiting becomes an act of resilience. Silence becomes a language. Every reflection on the water, every movement of the wind, every step along an empty path speaks of what cannot be repaired, yet can still be transformed.

Rather than dwelling on loss, Les Promesses Rompues contemplates the quiet strength that emerges once hope has been stripped of certainty. It is within this stillness that renewal begins: not as a dramatic revelation, but as something almost imperceptible, like light filtering through the leaves or ripples slowly dissolving across the lake.

A visual poem where nature offers no answers, only the freedom to listen, to let go, and to begin again.

Immersa in uno spazio estraneo alla dimensione domestica, la figura femminile richiama uno stereotipo profondamente radicato, quello della donna associata alla cura dello spazio domestico.
La casa non è più un luogo, ma l’ostinazione con cui l’essere umano continua a ricostruire un senso di appartenenza ovunque si trovi. In questo spazio sospeso, il gesto sopravvive alla sua utilità e diventa traccia di un’identità che va oltre il ruolo che la società le attribuisce.
Quando il contesto svanisce e la funzione si dissolve, non resta ciò che facciamo, ma ciò che siamo.
