it’s all hard so you choose.

and if it’s not hard? babyyyyy girlllllll, step outside of your comfort zone. comfort kills.

growth only happens when you’re uncomfortable.

Repeat after me, “I don’t get to negotiate with what the faithful, committed version of me already decided.”

You job? Obedience. God’s job? The outcome.

Speak this over yourself. Pray for this kind of resolve. This is what it takes to build, from the inside out.

What are you asking God for that requires work, discipline, and self-control?

Just about everything 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

Working on it!

I’ve been praying and speaking this over myself lately.

“The tired and emotional version of me, doesn’t get to negotiate what the committed, faithful, and trusting-in-God version of me already decided.”

Take this as a form of encouragement. Tough love so to say (just like Jesus). I’m not perfect. We’re not perfect. We will never be. But when Wednesday comes around or when life somehow piles its way up, I pray that you remind yourself of your “why”. Remind yourself of when you sat down at the beginning of the week and planned out what each day should ideally look like to move the mark on being better every day. Remind yourself that you are a work in progress and that any kind of change requires you to show up.

I’m working on working out discipline and consistency to allow the (continuous) formation of self-control. Not only physically, but spiritually too. Like come on now, self-control is SO hard. But hey, baby steps.

Soft? Strong?

Both. Kinda like Jesus.

Actually, just like Jesus. Because His softness and gentleness never diminishes His strength and power.

Kinda cool that we embody Him, not only spiritually, but physically too.
