Had an amazing day at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum with friends and family. I’ve walked past this building at least a hundred times, but somehow never made it inside — and wow, I had no idea how incredible it was. The art alone is unreal, but the courtyard might’ve been my favorite part of all.

Knowing the story of the infamous, still-unsolved art heist adds a whole different layer to the experience. Obviously it’s a terrible thing that those works were taken, but the mystery behind it is fascinating. Seeing the empty frames where the stolen pieces once hung honestly gave me chills — such a powerful reminder of what was lost.

Rembrandt’s self-portrait was easily one of my favorite pieces in the entire museum. And while Jax said he had a good time, I think we can all agree that walking around an art museum probably isn’t a four-year-old’s top activity 😂 — he was a champ though.

Can’t wait to come back in different seasons and see how this place transforms.
