Meet the maker, again…

My original intro disappeared when I reset a few things around here, so this felt like the right time for a refresh.

Hi!! I’m Lilly!! 🤗 I make things with yarn. Mostly crochet. Sometimes chaos. Always with my hands.

I’m drawn to cozy textures, playful details, and projects that don’t need to be perfect to be meaningful. This space is mostly fiber, with the occasional creative detour. 🤭

I care more about process than polish, humor over perfection, and showing up as a real person who just really likes yarn.

So stick around for a lot of yarn, a lot of crochet, and a moderate amount of creative chaos.

And as for my business… it’s lillylaagedesigns • lil-lee-low-uh • Danish name • still obsessed. 😉

I did tell you that I would pretty much only be posting about this bag moving forwards. So don’t complain.

There is only one bag I’ve made that is not pictured here and I already have another one on my hook. So it’s safe to say I’m fully obsessed. (Don’t worry, I’ll post those later. 🤭)

What has been really fun about this bag is playing with hook size and yarn weight to get different sized bags!

This was the OG and she’s MASSIVE - in a good way, of course!! She makes a perfect tote and holds SO MUCH at 18in wide by 15in tall.

I did size up from the recommended 5.5mm in the pattern - but that’s only bc that’s what I did for the Juliet blanket to meet gauge. 🤫

This was bag number 2. I dropped my hook size substantially to acquire a bag more suitable for a shoulder carry. Coupled with a shorter strap and some sew-on tabs for the rings - she looks ever so polished, and I use her daily!! She clocks in at 15in wide and 13in tall.

Bag number 3, naturally. She’s itty bitty, coming in at only 11.5in wide and 10.5in tall! I used a lovely mercerized cotton yarn, weight 2, and some teeny tiny hooks (unlike Mel, I love them!) to achieve a super lightweight bag for the essentials.

This bag… oh, this bag!! 🤩 Bag number 4 is one of my favorites - so of course it went to my kid! 🥰🥰 She uses the same size hooks as bag 2, but since the yarn is a bit stiffer, she’s ever so slightly bigger. And boy does the yarn POP! This bag makes me sooo happy! (Peep the perfect match in the strap - I HUNTED for this! 🤭) by @fiberlilly

Back when I started this IG account, I had no vision and no plan. I just had a little extra time and a husband willing to take some videos of me knitting.

Then somewhere along the way, I got concerned about “the vibe,” the hashtags, and gaining followers. So I focused on curating my posts, heavily editing my reels, and discarding things that weren’t perfect enough.

Then tonight, as I sat in my chair, working on Juliet square no. 700,002, I remembered sitting in the same exact spot, asking my husband to take a quick video for me to post.

So I decided to get back to my roots (though I set up a tripod this time, hubs is getting over a cold and deserves to rest) and take a quick process video. Just me, my hook, and my yarn. It’s not sped up, there are no cuts, and it’s not perfect, although I did add a filter and some audio (the background was… loud).🤭

Tell me, where did you “start” when you first posted? I challenge you to harness the same energy in your next post! 🫶

Sisters Hobo Bag - but make it MINI!!! 🤩 It makes a perfect sized shoulder bag to hold the essentials! (Swipe for size comparison.)

This bag was made with weight 2 mercerized cotton yarn and a REALLY small hook (can’t remember the exact mm off the top of my head - but it was small enough that @melissa_made_that would NEVER touch it! 🤣).
