The stars don’t rise for some of us. They rise for all of us. 🩷

This one was taken at midnight, lines in the water, breath fogging in the cold, the whole sky wide open above us. There’s no better time to be reminded what Matariki is really about: looking up, remembering, and knowing you’re part of something bigger than the day-to-day.
This year the theme says it out loud: Matariki Herenga Waka. For everyone.

No dress code. No pace requirement. No right kind of person. You don’t have to be fast, or experienced, or catch anything at all. Whether you’re deep in an ultra or just out on the water at midnight because it felt right. If you’ve ever quietly wondered whether it was really for you, here it is, plainly: it is. You belong out here.

So this Matariki, see and be seen. ✨

This afternoon was spent bridge-hopping through Kaitoke Regional Park like it was my full-time job. Fucking loved it! 💛

Four bridges (one was fucking 'shit your pants' material), endless lush greenery in the ngahere, an awa doing its thing, and just enough winter sunshine to make me forget it was July.
10/10, Layla and her mama would definitely frolic here again. 🌿☀️💚
