3.75 ⭐️
(rounded to 4 on goodreads)

I have mixed feelings about this one. The second half was SO much better for me. Once things finally started happening the pacing picked up & the action & tension was rolling.

The first half though? Way too slow. It felt like the entire first half was building toward one thing only for us to basically end up right back where we started in book one. With this being a trilogy & the book being under 400 pages I really wanted more movement in the overall story. Literally feels like we started back at book one but take two . 🎬

That being said… I still had a good time reading it. I love this world & the dragons are easily one of my favorite parts. The possessive dragons? 😮‍💨

My biggest issue was Ever & Aeson. I love them but their relationship is starting to feel like the same argument on repeat. The drama between them felt dragged out this time & after that cliffhanger I’m a little worried we’re going to get another round of the same thing in book three.

But I’m invested. I’m way too curious about how this is all going to come together in the final book to stop now.

Anyone else a wee but underwhelmed with this one? by @fictionalgrinds

Forewarning …. this was definitely a book that almost resulted in my kindle being yeeted.
Its been a long time since a cliffhanger was so disrespectful.
It has left me reeling. Because DO WHAT? We were mid story ma’am. We were suppose to be taking a little nappy nap & getting back into it.

But also 5 ⭐️
Everything about this was intriguing from the start. Lots of broody vampires. Say less right?
Slow burn. So much tension.
The banter was perfect.

I had fun with this one. Loved it. And i’m YEARNING for book two.
But remember @tessahalewrites is not afraid to disrespect you when it comes to a cliff hanger 🤣🤣 by @fictionalgrinds
