2025 Reading Wrap Up 🎈 (a few months late)🤭

Finally finally finally posting again. And of course it had to be my reading wrap up of the physical books I read in 2025. It’s a tradition of mine. It’s a must. I had to have it on the grid. Don’t mind it being September, and a few months shy of 2027. If you don’t go too much into details and all that 🫣

Anyhow, 2025 was an okay reading year. Many chunky fantasy books. What the mood says, goes. So that’s how it went. Sprinkling in some other genres here and there lol. Pregnancy did also dictate how much I got to read. (Now it’s the little fella dictating). Many events, many feelings in 2025.

A few stats I love to list:
- I read 70 books in total in 2025
- 43 of those were physical books
- I read a total of 27.834 pages throughout the 70 books
- Notes from underground, 136 pages, being the shortest book
- The throne of broken gods, 772 pages, being the longest book
- An average book length of 397 pages
- My average rating for 2025 being 3.4 stars

As we’re nearing 2027 now, and my reading year being very up and down, I’m not listing any goals for the year here. I had set a goal on GR for 50 books, but that is highly unrealistic. I’ll set it to 30; and see how much I’ll read for the rest of year.

2026 ✨❤️‍🩹

A long overdue check-in. What a year already.

The most precious beginning to the year. With my son. Him growing so fast. Time moving so fast now. I want to stop it. At the same time, sickness and loss. Life is fickle. Along with that came strength, you didn’t know you had. I see myself growing on many levels. And a love like nothing else for my little human.

On a bookish note, what goals do I have for the year? I’m not so sure yet. I’m yet to pick up a book. It definitely takes time to adjust to motherhood. Everyday is a new day. No sleep and definitely no energy for much. Postpartum is really something. The roads have been covered in snow for over a week. And just as I’m beginning to be a little more pain free, I’m stuck inside ❄️ But I think the stroller, me and an audiobook will be best friends soon 🤞🏼

I miss reading. I miss being emerged in a story. I know it’ll come. I’m not stressing over anything. I think I have the same bookish goals as last year, minus the same amount of books. I need to be realistic ofc. But I really want to be more analog, and journal more. That’s a high goal. I want to type down my thoughts and feelings just in general. So when my baby naps more than thirty minutes, I’ll try to squeeze that in 👶🏻💁🏻‍♀️

And my next post will me a recap of all the physical books from my shelves that I read last year. I do that every year. Just haven’t gotten around to do it yet. But I’ll ally myself with my husband, and make him do it 💁🏻‍♀️

I hope you’ve had a good start to the year. We’re already halfway into February. How crazy is that!

Last reads of 2025 📖

As many of you voted in my poll, I’ve put down ‘Emily Wilde’s map of the otherlands’ for now, and am starting ‘the wrath of the fallen’ by Amber V. Nicole. Last book in the Gods & Monsters series, and a romantasy I think I can binge quickly. Maybe I’ll return to Emily Wilde too. Depending on my mood tbh 🤷🏻‍♀️ (and if a baby shows up in the meantime, now one day over due date👶🏻)

Current reads 📖

I’m planning to finish these two, and will I then be able to read one more book or not - that will be for baby to decide 💁🏻‍♀️ I have exactly one week left till my due date (hello week 40😱). As you can see, baby has already taken over 🩵

Maybe I’ll be able to squeeze in one extra, maybe not. I’m just taking it day by day these days, as my joints are starting to hurt 😅

Anyways, do you plan on squeezing in a book or two more before the year ends? And which ones are they? by @fictionarymind

Took myself on a date 🫶🏼

There is just something about being able to enjoy your own company. It’s not something I often do, taking myself out to a cafe or anything. But when I do, the happiness it brings so nice. It took a lot of energy to go out (11 days till due date). But I’m happy I did. Soon I’ll have a plus one accompanying me, and I can’t wait for this next chapter in my life👶🏻 by @fictionarymind

A #sundayshelfie for the feed 🫶🏼

I officially entered week 39 of my pregnancy today, and there is only 14 days left till my due date 😱 Crazy stuff! There are lots of stuff laying around, but I managed to capture the floors free today, so I simply had to snap a picture while the opportunity presented itself 😂

Bookish wise, I’m just going to see what I’ll manage to read. My tiredness is at another level, and I get exhausted over the smallest things now, and don’t sleep too well (insomnia diaries). I’ve just started ‘holiday romance’ on KU and I’m listening to ‘britt-marie was here’ while doing stuff around our home.

What are you reading this week? 🫶🏼

I’m prioritizing finishing the books I’ve started. I’m literally reading four books, but I’m almost done with all of them 😅

The books are:
- Autumn by Ali Smith
- 40 uger inden (pregnancy book)
- The eyes of Gaza by Plestia Alaqad
- The fork, the witch and the worm by Christoper Paolini

I’ve been in a reading slump for months, but am finally reading again. So I don’t want to lose my momentum❤️🙏🏼

In the picture you may spot a little passenger. Impossible to hide now, 90% done with my pregnancy, and under a month till my due date. All of it is surreal 🥹

FIVE BEFORE THE END 👀

It’s simply too ambitious for me to do ten before the end now. I’m in a slight reading slump, and it’s annoying the heck out of me. So I’m prioritizing books I’ve been wanting to read all year. When I’m in a reading slump it’s important for me to either audiobook or choose a genre I’m that’s easy for me to read. And I’ve been wanting to read my fantasy books for a while 🫶🏼

(Late) November hopefuls 🫣

Here on day seven of the month, here’s the books I hope to get to🥲

I’m going to be reading ‘the wrath of the fallen’ on my kindle, as they don’t have a matching paperback for the rest of books in the series.

I’m almost don’t with ‘notes from the underground’ and 21% into ‘autumn’.

I’m a huge reader these days. I both went to read everything and nothing. I’m so tired because I don’t sleep much, but really want to read too…

What are you reading this weekend? 🫶🏼

I’m almost done with phantasma. I’m planning on finishing it today, as I’m 80% in. And I want to read a few more chapters in autumn. I’m not sure about the prose or the story just yet.

And in this household, we absolutely love a good oats/chiapudding breakfast 😋

Officially on maternity leave 🤰🏻

Now that I’m on maternity leave, and don’t have to go to work, the nesting fase has really started. It’s like my mind is a bit on overdrive on things that I absolutely want to make sure I have in a good time (along with being very tired) There are what ifs. Like what if the little one wants to come a bit early? When is the right time to set up his bed? When should I start washing his clothes? What am I missing? I don’t know if it’s a first time mom thing 🙊And now everybody asks me if I’m ready for birth! I’m not sure. My mindset is that it’s hard to be ready for something I’ve never tried before. I think one can prepare as much as one wants. But that doesn’t mean it’ll happen in a way one thinks.

So I’d actually say, I have a positive mindset on it. Or at least trying for now. I still got 51 days to go till I’m due 👶🏻 Who knows if the fear of the pain or anxiety will kick in (it probably will at some point). But one thing is for sure. The body of a woman is incredible❤️‍🔥
