POSTS STORIES REELS

I hopped in for a few tunes, in an Irish jam yesterday, and when I put my fiddle up I heard a tune that has a very similar a part to one I wrote a few years back. It never got a name, but this tune was written and orchestrated as a project in my composition class in my masters. The other tune was @lizfiddle’s the Island of Woods, which I am enjoying learning that one on fiddle now ;) by @fiddlefriday

Camino Day 4- 16ish miles

This was my favorite day of walking. I got to hike with a lot of different folks in our group and we had such an inspiring and strong group of people to walk with. Every person has beautiful stories and I’m so glad I got to walk with them. We had lunch together with everyone, and I tried the beer of the Camino for the first time because they had a Gluten Free version!!! I also got Patti the most perfect little Christmas present at our coffee stop and I am so excited to give it to her!
Here’s our thoughts for walking! Water shapes the pilgrim’s day. We look for fountains, refill our bottles, and learn not to take the next drink for granted. For many communities, safe water and sanitation require a daily journey, careful stewardship, and shared action. Church World Service supports work in water, sanitation, and hygiene as part of its commitment to healthy, dignified lives. Let every spring and fountain remind you that water is gift, necessity, and responsibility.

About a month ago, I played some music (with some pretty great people) to raise funds for @cws_global and their humanitarian aid across the world. This is also in preparation for my hike on the Camino De Santiago with a group of folks raising money for the same organization. I’m about $500 away from my goal, would you consider supporting me?

Last week, I played a house concert with a purpose of raising funds for @cws_global and their humanitarian aid across the globe. Here is a clip from that! Long story short, I will be walking a portion of the Camino de Santiago with a group of folks this October and we all have the same fundraising goal of $3500 for the same organization. I’m $700 away from hitting my goal! Would you like to help? Check out my fundraising page https://church-world-service.grassrootz.com/cws-camino-2026/katie-le-sesne?utm_id=97758_v0_s00_e0_tv2_a1dennhb5agbri also a super big thanks to Carla for hosting! #cello #americanamusic #banjo #mandolin #houseconcertforacause by @fiddlefriday

So last night I did a first and played a house concert with some awesome people, for an awesome cause. I’m raising $3500 dollars for @cws_global leading up to a 100km hike on the Camino de Santiago. Here’s a fun moment playing a tune with @patti_rae who will also hike with me! If you’d like to help me meet my goal, go to https://church-world-service.grassrootz.com/cws-camino-2026/katie-le-sesne?utm_id=97758_v0_s00_e0_tv2_a1dennhb5agbri #fiddlefriday by @fiddlefriday

I am hiking part of the Camino de Santiago to help raise funds for @cws_global. In order to help me meet my fundraising goal, I’m playing a house concert hosted by @carla_naum! Join us on Thursday 23 at 7pm. Will you join for some music played by @patti_rae @joven.mario @judeclayworks and myself? by @fiddlefriday

Spent the past 2 days on this lil project. 5/6 years of teaching in Noblesville are documented in this quilt. I only had 1 shirt from 2020-2021 and yes it’s in this quilt, but that year didn’t get a whole row. My first 5 years of teaching (Bedford and Concord) is a complicated quilt because the tshirt logos are weird sizes… I’ll get to that one day. I’ll have to choose some edging, then it’ll find a spot until the other side is made.

We (cello, fiddle, and myself) made it back from almost two weeks in California. Gandalf is glad we’re home. The laundry is going, and unpacking is almost done. Fiddle camp was great but it’s good to be home! by @fiddlefriday
