Two years ago, I moved to the UK as an 18-year-old. Insanely naive, but with way too much confidence and love for the UK.

Two years in, I’ve learnt so many things that I would’ve never learnt if I had stayed at home. I learnt that people are mean as hell, but I also learnt that some souls are just too kind for this world.

I learnt that life doesn’t always turn out the way you want it to. You’ll probably get rejected a million times for a basic job, and maybe the only silver lining of that week will be the food your friends made for you because you were sad.

I learnt that I literally have no time left and should’ve started working at the age of 13 if I wanted to be rich by 25 😭🙏

It’s funny how things turn out to be.

Forever grateful for the life I’m living. I hope I’m making my 12-year-old self proud. <3 by @fidhasabu_
