We recently invited Field Doctor customers to a studio and asked them one question: Why is Field Doctor made for you?

A breast surgeon who, after her own cancer diagnosis, needed a healthy meal in under ten minutes on the days she couldn’t face cooking. A GP who sees first hand how a whole, diverse diet changes outcomes for patients with long-term conditions. An Olympic gold medallist living with IBS. A former Gladiator with multiple food allergies. A dietetics student who knows exactly what good nutrition looks like and chooses Field Doctor meals.

💚Different people. Different health needs. Every one of them found food that actually works for them: dietitian-designed, chef-made frozen meals, personalised to their health and delivered to their door.

In a survey of over 250 customers, 91% of those who ate field doctor meals for four weeks or more said they felt better and that the meals supported their health.

Does sugar feed cancer? Should you avoid dairy or soy after a breast cancer diagnosis? 🎗️

There’s so much conflicting advice about nutrition and breast cancer, it can be difficult to separate fact from fiction.

We asked specialist cancer dietitian Jo Cunningham (@greenlightnutrition), lead dietitian on our Eat Well Live Well programme, to tackle five common concerns.

🍬 Sugar: Sugar doesn’t directly ‘feed’ cancer in the way often suggested. There’s no need to eliminate fruit or carbohydrates, although limiting added sugars is sensible for overall health.

🥛 Dairy: There’s no convincing evidence that dairy increases breast cancer risk or recurrence. It’s also a valuable source of calcium and protein.

🌱 Soy: Research suggests whole soy foods, including tofu and edamame, are safe and may even be beneficial after breast cancer. Concentrated soy supplements are different and should be discussed with your clinical team.

🥩 Meat: The strongest cancer evidence relates to red and processed meat and bowel cancer. Limit red meat and eat little, if any, processed meat.

🍷 Alcohol: Alcohol increases breast cancer risk, and no level of consumption is completely risk-free. The less you drink, the lower your risk.

The takeaway? Good nutrition after breast cancer is about balance, variety and nourishment, not unnecessarily cutting out entire food groups.

Bella knows what good nutrition looks like. As a student dietitian, she spends her days learning all about how food can support our health.

😴But knowing what to eat and having the time to make it are two very different things.

🤓Between studying, placements and everyday life, there are days when cooking a balanced meal from scratch just isn’t realistic.

That’s where Field Doctor comes in. Dietitian-designed, chef-made meals, ready from the freezer when she needs them. So eating well doesn’t have to mean finding more time in the day.

Because even dietitians need an easy option sometimes! by @fielddoctoruk

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it’s a cause that means a great deal to us.

💕Last year, we launched our Eat Well, Live Well programme with the specialist dietitians at Perci Health, combining nourishing meals with expert guidance to support some of the everyday challenges that can follow treatment.

Throughout October, we’re also donating 5p from every meal sold to Breast Cancer Now, Black Women Rising, Macmillan Cancer Support and CoppaFeel! who support so many people on their breast cancer journeys.

People like Meera- a busy mum, foodie and now happily on the final stretch of her cancer treatment. Shes a great cook and loves good food, but when treatment takes its toll, having nourishing meals ready to go can make life that little bit easier. 💗

Packing a healthy & balanced lunch doesn’t have to be complicated!!!
Here are my 5 non-negotiables as a student dietitian that will soon become second nature:
1. Build your lunch around protein
2. Include a good source of fibre
3. Aim for at least 3 different veggies
4. Add a source of unsaturated fat
5. Pack a snack
Use this as your formula for a balanced, filling lunch. Keep it simple, and let leftovers and batch cooking do the hard work for you!

Field Doctor is literally made for me 🥺 #AD

I’m learning that accommodating my AuDHD isn’t always about finding ways to do MORE.

Sometimes it’s looking at the things that unnecessarily eat up my capacity and asking “how can I make this require less of me?”

Food is one of them.

You don’t need to become the kind of person who magically wants to cook every night. You just need systems that still work when you don’t.

This is one of mine 🫶🏾 by @fielddoctoruk
