Why we’re a text only salon

Our phone is on silent. Always. And we never pick up, that’s completely intentional.

With no receptionist, we choose to give all our attention to the human in our chair. No rushing away for a phone grab. Just us, focused entirely on you and your hair.

Here’s how to reach us:

✉️ Email your stylist directly — every stylist has their own @fieldtriphair.com address. (It’s always firstname@fieldtriphair.com, so once you know your stylist’s name, you know how to reach them.)

Why email & text?

While you’re in our chair, that time is completely yours.

✨ Everything’s in writing — times, quotes, details, and you can send inspo pics + your current hair ✨ Nothing gets missed ✨ You’re talking to your stylist, not a front desk relay ✨ Your appointment time stays uninterrupted.

A quick note on hours: we answer texts during business hours, when we have a free moment — we need our sleep to do good hair 😴. Emails, though — those we answer anytime, and you’ll get a real reply, not a bot. We promise to get back to you as soon as we can 💘

NINE!

Nine years in, and somehow y’all got this little indie salon onto the Best of Vancouver podium just in time for our birthday. Talk about floating on a rhinestone cloud! 💎⛅️

As the queen herself says, “If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” Well, we’ve had nine years of both, but we wouldn’t trade it, look at the magic we’ve created. 🌈

Never been more proud of our team, of our space, the work we’re doing and the humans we get to hang with.😭

Shocked, humbled, so very, very proud!

Well, this was a surprise! 🥉😭

We found out we were nominated for Best Hair Salon in the Georgia Straight’s 30th annual Best of Vancouver just a few days before voting closed, and somehow you all got us onto the podium anyway. 🤯

We’re a little independent shop in Mount Pleasant, so seeing our name up there next to some of the biggest salons in the city has us feeling very shocked and very humbled. 🫶🫶🫶

Thank you to every single person who voted, booked, referred a friend, or sat in our chairs this year. To our amazing talented gorgeous team, this one is all ours!

Nine years of unicorn hair this Sunday. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate.
