The @fiericonsort and @camerataoresund presents a programme of Christmas Cantatas, which exemplifies Christoph Graupner’s musical activities during his almost fifty years in service as Hofkapellmeister in Darmstadt. While he was there, he developed a personal style that does not exactly conform to the norms that had been set during the past centuries through the reception of Bach’s monumental oeuvre. This recording invites listeners to discover more of this extraordinary composer.

➜ Pre-order the album (out next Friday) and listen to this single at the link in our bio.

We’re looking forward to our next performance of Freeing the Muse at @stour_music this week! Friday at 9:15pm!

Here’s a little memory from our concert for @purbeckartweeks - we loved sharing stories and music about such wonderful women from the 16th century - Molza, Casulana, Aleotti, the Concerto delle Donne, Stampa, Cavaletta… and even words from Sappho herself🤩

Last night in Brussels we celebrated the creativity of women in 16th-century Italy with our new Freeing the Muse programme🎶

Commissioned by Bozar in response to their expo Bellezza e Bruttezza, it explores the female gaze on beauty through composers, performers, and poets.

Thanks to everyone who joined us! We hope to be back soon🍻

Happy International Women’s Day! Join us for the launch of our Freeing the Muse programme @barnesmusicfestival tonight 7:30pm

We’ll be exploring not just the female composers but also the poets, instrumentalists and singers of 16th-century Italy whose talent and creativity developed the madrigal, monody and opera, continuing an oral tradition women had carried for millennia of improvising and reciting song.

Looking forward to the next three performances too:
- 8 April @bozarbrussels
- 30 May @purbeckartweeks
- 19 June @stour_music
