For the very first time, the annual Día de los Muertos celebration at Fiesta de Reyes—La Experiencia—is beginning on September 1! 🌼🖤

It’s the fifth year that the plaza will be covered in marigolds, with ofrendas, calacas and catrinas at every turn. It’s our honor to bring back this community-wide celebration of the history, Hispanic culture and rich heritage of the region, while also providing a space for visitors to honor their loved ones.

⏰ Plaza hours
11 AM to 9 PM Sun-Thurs
11 AM to 10 PM Fri & Sat

📸 1872. This photo was taken just three years after Albert and Emily Seeley added the upper level and opened The Cosmopolitan Hotel. Notice the ladies upstairs and the shadow of the flag pole, already up during that time, reaching towards the historic building.

Here’s what you NEED to know before you go ⬇️

📆 Running NOW - November 2nd
💰 It’s completely free and family friendly
💃 Daily live music, mariachi bands, folklórico dancers every single day
🕰️ Weekend afternoons (especially Friday and Saturday nights) get extremely busy
🌮 The ‘sit down’ restaurants do not take reservations ahead of time, make sure to put down your name in advance if you would like to eat in the decorated plaza
🚗 Park in the nearby transportation parking lots not the official Old Town ones for less traffic
🚏 To avoid the parking fiasco, you can take the trolley straight to the old town station, it’s only a two minute walk to the festival
