POSTS STORIES REELS

Our October 15th gathering had two presenters @cherrytungart and @nubes.st They shared their work, spoke about risks they take, beliefs they have, hidden messages, and even regrets. Their audience were artists, curators, and art believers. More pictures of this warm gathering to follow ✨✨✨ by @fifteenth_element

$In this short presentation of your work, we are suggesting to stay away from an artist statement and from directly describing your work. What we are interested in is the undercurrents of your art practice, the things that are hidden, not easily revealed. We are interested not so much in the story your art tells but in the stories told or heard nearby. We all have to learn how to tell our stories better, stories that do not fit the container of the artist statement. The questions we are asking: 1\. What are you passionate about today? Is there anything that keeps you up at night? Is there an ongoing monologue in your head? 2\. Is there anything in your work that is never explicitly said? Do you wish it were otherwise? 3\. Do your have any believes you’d like to share? What makes you believe that? Is it difficult for you to live up to your believe? 4\. Have you ever changed your mind about something fundamental in your art practice? 5\. Do you take any risks? 6\. Is there any social aspect of what you do and believe in? 7\. Is there anything our society has forgotten, misunderstood, or stopped paying attention to? 8\. Is there anything you wish to say that does not fit any of this questions? Anything at all? by @fifteenth_element$

Your work deserves to be seen. Your voice deserves to be heard.

At 15ē, we believe art doesn’t need a perfect space, a finished form, or permission to be shared.

A studio, a gallery, a living room, or an unexpected corner — wherever artists and thinkers gather, ideas can take shape.

We create space to experiment, question, rehearse, exchange, and be seen. A space where curiosity matters more than credentials, and collaboration grows through connection.

You don’t need permission to share your work. You need a community willing to engage with it.

Bring your art. Bring your ideas. Bring your questions.

Invite us into your studio. Let’s keep the conversation moving beyond walls.

15ē — Gathering as practice. Collaboration as possibility. ✨

15ē at the Chicago Artist-Run Spaces Fair at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC)!

We had the opportunity to meet fellow participants and visitors, exchange ideas, and share who we are - a gathering rooted in conversation, creativity, and community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and shared a little of their own practice with us. These conversations are at the heart of 15ē, and we look forward to continuing them around our table.

Here is a hypothesis—The Artist’s Main Means of Art Creation Is Her Body&Language. If you are genuinely interested in this proposition, or problem, bring yourself to 15ē gathering on September 15th. This is a discussion with experiment. Bring one thing that contains a trace of you—artwork or raw material. Are you interested? by @fifteenth_element

August 15ē — Language & Time-Based Work

On a warm summer evening, we gathered again.

Kasra @kasra_makes_art shared his designs and brought his writing into the room through performance—opening space for conversation, response, and exchange.

We also went around the room sharing what’s coming next: new projects, upcoming events, and ideas taking shape.

A gathering to practice, share, listen, and stay connected to what everyone is making. by @fifteenth_element

Agnes Callard said it well ❤️❤️❤️ by @fifteenth_element

Some work asks to be seen.
Some work asks to be experienced.

On August 15, we make room for language and time-based work—performances, readings, videos, gestures, sounds, and everything in between.

Bring your project.
Bring your curiosity.
Let’s rehearse together. by @fifteenth_element

Despite the heat, we gathered once again.

@yuhsinwu.here shared her work, new voices joined the conversation, and together we practiced what 15ē is built on: showing work, asking questions, and offering thoughtful feedback.

One gathering at a time, we continue building a community around process, curiosity, and care. by @fifteenth_element

July 15 — 2D & 3D Work Night

Bring your work.
Show it, rehearse it, question it.

An evening for works in progress, experiments, fragments, and forms still becoming.

Critique as care.
Feedback as practice.
Gathering as method.

15ē continues. ✨ by @fifteenth_element

June 15

A rehearsal.
A conversation.
An unfinished offering.

Melissa Bennett opened a space for us to witness work in motion — where process becomes visible and dialogue becomes part of the making.

Gathering as practice.
Listening as care.
