Ad | I’ve made an early start on my Christmas preparations 🌟 rare for me, I usually run into John Lewis a week or so before Christmas Eve only to realise all the best wrapping paper has sold out!  The Christmas Shop 🌟 is now open at @johnlewis_highwycombe and it’s fully stocked with lots of 🎄 festive inspiration, and it is so much nicer to browse in person and enjoy the atmosphere.  The Partners are always welcoming and helpful too.   My shopping list included 🎄 Christmas cards, a faux wreath for my door that I can use again and again, a few new baubles and how cute is the little mouse with her faux fur gilet to match mine?  I also got some sweet mini crackers!     If you’re starting to think about Christmas, pop into your local John Lewis for a browse, and look out for their upcoming Christmas events and activities too (details in-store on online).  I am thinking of doing Treetorial: How to style and decorate your tree this year!   Have you started your Christmas preparations yet, or is it still a little early for you?   Love Michelle xx   📍John Lewis High Wycombe    #JohnLewisHighWycombe #ChristmasShopping by @fifty_andfab
In 6 months, I’ll be 60 🎉 Not quite sure how it’s possible as I still feel exactly the same as I did in my 20s just maybe a little wiser! But I’m starting a countdown to 60, and these are the areas I want to focus on, so I feel even more fabulous 🎉 I’ve written about it on my blog too. It’s all about health, style, travel, confidence and saying yes more in midlife! Is 60 still midlife?! If you were born in 1966 – the year England last won the Football World Cup, let me know in the comments! Ad/PR | A little midlife reminder, we’re allowed to take a day off from the to do list and looking after everyone else! Emily joined me at Whittlebury Park for the 🌟 ESPA Mindful Menopause Spa Day 🌟 and we had a lovely, relaxing day together. The day really focuses on your menopause wellbeing and includes a super relaxing 80-minute back, face and scalp treatment, access to the extensive Heat & Ice experiences and leisure facilities, a two-course buffet lunch and a refreshing non-alcoholic drink after the treatment, plus an ESPA bath and body oil to take home. The treatment was my highlight, and I really enjoyed lunch and our drink afterwards and it was lovely to have some uninterrupted time with my daughter. While I had my treatment, she chilled out in the relaxation room! Set in the pretty Northamptonshire countryside, Whittlebury Park was an easy hour’s drive for us and straightforward to find. When did you last put a day for yourself in the diary? Love Michelle xx Ad/PR Invite @whittleburypark Menopause wellbeing, midlife selfcare, mother and daughter spa day by @fifty_andfab
Had a lovely wander around Hampstead yesterday when I visited my friend @traceymcalpine_ for lunch! Great tour thank you! Loved all the Halloween 🎃 decorations! We had lunch at Burgh House and popped into an art exhibition @markwoodsart ‘Urban Portraits’ Fragments of London which was excellent! Definitely take a look! A perfect day out! I always enjoy discovering more of London. Love Michelle xx 📍 Hampstead, London Blazer @thisiswhistles Trousers @marksandspencer Red jumper @uniqloeurope by @fifty_andfab
PR Invite | Had the best fun in London last week, two fabulous events, lunch with my friend and early evening drinks with my insta-girls … I loved seeing the AW26 and SS27 preview with Bonmarché! I think they are going from strength to strength and have some very stylish but affordable pieces again this season. And who is their new ambassador I wonder?! And this is what we get up to at events, it can be a little chaotic filming but so much fun! Red jumper on its way to me (I was sold when I saw it on Christine @surreysweetheart) but I also have my eye on a few jackets, and I may even be persuaded to buy a Christmas jumper! Have you had a look at Bonmarche recently!? You really should! Ad | Vitamin D is a regular part of my own routine, especially once autumn arrives and the clocks change. During autumn and winter, UK sunlight ☀️ isn’t strong enough for our bodies to make enough vitamin D, so it’s certainly one to consider supplementing with. @viridiannutrition is a familiar and trusted supplement brand. Visiting your local health food shop is a good way to ask questions and get advice while supporting a local business too. I’m using Viridian D3 2000IU, which supports normal bones, teeth, muscle and immune function. Viridian’s D3 is plant sourced from lichen, suitable for vegans and made with active ingredients, with no artificial fillers. There are several options in the range, including capsules, liquid and spray, so you can find something that suits your routine. I sort my vitamins into my pill box as an easy way to remember to actually take them! Filmed in Marlow, in the pouring rain ☔️ but at least I still managed to sit outside for a coffee, albeit under shelter! Do you ‘create your own sunshine’ in the winter months and supplement with vitamin D? Love Michelle xx #CreateYourOwnSunshine #ViridianNutrition #VitaminD #ViridianVitaminD by @fifty_andfab
Sometimes life is quite full full on, there the fun things of course (planning holidays, London days, lunches with girlfriends) and I’m so very lucky but other days where I seem to have a never-ending to do list, worry about my mum and dad and three dogs under my feet! That’s real life not insta-life! But I am learning that not everything has to be perfect, and it’s okay to prioritise me a bit more often! Anyway, what do you think about double denim? Yayy or nay? PR Invite | I love discovering a new brand, and I’ve really enjoyed getting to know more about Busby & Fox. I had such a lovely afternoon at their store in Henley, meeting founder Emma, her team from their head office in Devon and catching up with friends. I had a one-to-one styling session with Emma and chatted to her about her vision, love of fashion and I got a few midlife styling tips too! Busby & Fox now has 15 stores, and I think it is such a lovely brand for midlife women to discover. The clothes feel relaxed and wearable but also special. The staff are always willing to help you find the perfect outfit (with no pressure). I often visit Henley as it’s not far from me, then a few days later I was in Marlborough with my girlfriends, and we discovered there is a Busby & Fox store there too! Obviously, I had to have another try-on (see stories). Have you visited a Busby & Fox store yet? Love Michelle xx My blouse is from a previous collection @busbyandfox and my jeans are from @reiss Style for women over 50, midlife fashion, Henley shopping, what to wear over 50, midlife style, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire by @fifty_andfab
