Welcome to my pottery studio 🪩

I opened this place almost 3 years ago because I really believe that we can all foster a creative lifestyle in one way or another. And sometimes people don’t know where to start, or they want to do it alongside a friend, or they want to bring their kid in for a unique creative experience, or want to learn something new.

We specialize in hand building! Which is a way of making with clay— without the pottery wheel. I can get on a REAL high horse about this topic, but I’ll spare you some of it now. Just know, if the wheel feels too messy, to fast, to chaotic, I get it. And there’s a different way to make functional and beautiful things using a rolling pin, some water, and a couple of tools. I’ll show ya. 😉

We offer parent + child classes, adult classes, and kids classes and open studio memberships in our oak park studio and workshops around Chicago.

We’re making our own ceramic wine cups— your ticket includes hands-on instruction, on the best patio, with the coolest employees, sipping any drink of your choice. Then when you come back and pick up your cup a few weeks later, enjoy a five dollar wine pour in the cup that you made!

After a lot of transition within this space, it’s back to its (almost) original form: a pottery studio. As I mentioned in my last (and only) crying on the Internet video, keeping this space alive is a lot of work! For a minute, it was being used as a coworker space, then a vintage pop-up store, now a pottery studio. So much of being a small business owner is adapting to the circumstances that surround you. I want to say that this is how the space will be for a long time! But honestly, if someone came to me tomorrow with an interesting pitch, I’d hear them out. For now: just trying to make this feel as seamless as possible for people who want to come in and make something with their hands. To find connection with each other, or with themselves. To foster a creative lifestyle. Excited for you to see what it’s looking like!

I haven’t held one of these in a minute! Come paint on my pottery! This Saturday at my studio in Oak Park, 5-7PM. No registration required. $10 fee to paint + the cost of each item (ranging from $10-$65). Mugs! Bowls! Vases! Tic-tac-toe boards! Ceramic envelopes, nesting bowls, candle holders, berry bowls, etc. something for everyone! If you’re planning on coming, comment below or send me a DM and I can save ya something :)

I really think we should be treating birthdays like funerals!! It serves me no purpose to save up my kindest words for my best people for when they can’t even hear them. So when someone asks if they can celebrate their birthday, or their kids birthday in my little ceramic shop, you best believe it gets me real giddy. I’m in the studio today prepping these berry bowls for Willow’s birthday party in a few weeks. This will be fun!

Feeling emotional!!! This is my dream dream dream dream job and incase it seems like I’ve got it all together or everything’s booming, news flash, that is some fake news let me tell ya. The life of an entrepreneur is so wild and exhilarating and scary and I don’t think I could live any other way. The nitty gritty figuring tiny things out is really hard and I do not find joy in it. But I do find joy in the end, particularly (ie: only) when it works out. So here’s to trying! And hoping!

When this baby showed up at my doorstep 6 1/2 years ago, I did not think I would get to watch him grow up. It’s the honor of my lifetime to witness him live out a very full, full life. I love you buddy!!!
