Had a blast helping to corner @lucas._.lifts_ @lucassthelion first amateur MMA fight. He took the win with a stoppage, and more important to me, no injuries. His base and advanced skills developed at @gckravmaga with additional coaching from me. Continued to grow with high school and college wrestling. Additional training at @tillis_bjj , and training and working as a coach and trainer at @ufcgymcityofindustry congratulations to this kid. by @fighting.turtle

@lucas._.lifts_ got me doing weighted chin ups. Only an extra 15 - 20 lbs for now but that is a win at 45. Keep pushing till you can’t anymore. Slowly bringing my bench up, damn shoulders, 80’s to 90’s for now, same with the rows. Land mines for functional and rotational strength. Everything complements fight training for @gckravmaga . by @fighting.turtle

A full anniversary weekend. Our friends @cphancaskey1 @mom36211 @longshore_mikey helped us celebrate, dinner at the @theranchrestaurant and the next day a get the led out concert, followed by a Disneyland day with just @stephbt99 and I. Little did I know this beautiful girl from high school who went on a date with me 30 years ago, would be my wife of 24 years today. Thankful for everyday I get with you. by @fighting.turtle

Happy anniversary baby! Cant believe it’s been 24 years for us. I couldn’t ask for a better partner in life. I love you. by @fighting.turtle

RULE OF THUMB FOR OLDER AGE ATHLETES 👇🏼

For every hour of tissue breakdown during training, invest in the same total amount for recovery

Shoutout to our friends @ourlifecbd by @fighting.turtle

To follow yesterday post. I lift heavy to be strong and durable for training. Working live passing guard drills. Build muscle and then use it on the mat. I don’t care what some jujitsu people say. Strength is a skill. Build it, learn how to use it efficiently. by @fighting.turtle

Years of wear and tear , injuries and age don’t allow for some full range of motion with the knees. But I will keep pushing where I can. Strength program courtesy of @lucas._.lifts_ from @ufcgymcityofindustry . 2 to 3 days lifting and at least 2 days at @gckravmaga. by @fighting.turtle
