The absolute eruption that follows Thug Rose’s no-switch headkick KO over Zhang Weili is one for the ages. So glad to have fans back. Best card ever? #UFC261

Protect Terence Crawford by any means necessary. My mind bounced this Bud clip around for a second and I glitched because I thought I had heard the complete opposite thing before. Solved 😭☑️

UFC 325 - Back to back numbered cards is an amazing start to the UFC’s 2026. Great slate of fights and here are my picks for it: I like Quillan over Jamie Mullarky, and Teixeira over Tai. Tai will always be thrown into the mix for fun heavyweight fights, but it’s pretty clear he’s never going to really contend for the title. Teixeira will definitely get a shot at some point and this is a win he’ll need in order to continue climbing his way up. Fiziev over Ruffy. Ruffy got exposed in his last fight and if you look at Fiziev’s fights he really only loses to the best of the best. You can’t even really count the Gamrot loss against him either - just an untimely injury. It happens. BSD over Dan Hooker for a million reasons. I love watching Dan Hooker fight and I think he’s an incredible talent who genuinely just loves to get into the octagon. That said, it seems he’s made the decision to fight as much as possible and secure the bag instead of strategically position himself for UFC gold. Fair enough. BSD is about as scary of a human being as I’ve ever seen in the UFC and he knows he needs this one. A loss here really throws him to the back of the line in the most stacked and competitive division. Volk and Lopes fighting again this soon really makes me scratch my head. I don’t think I’ve seen anything from Diego that would tempt me to completely scrap the gaps we saw in their first fight and pick him to win the rematch. Volk is 37 though and at some point he’s going to start declining. I just don’t think it’s gonna be tonight against Diego Lopes. Should be a great night of fights 👊🏼

UFC 324 picks - First card on paramount should deliver some great fights 👊🏼 I think Paddy gets it done and then the UFC sets up the biggest fight since Khabib v. Conor and books Paddy v. Topuria taken in T-Mobile Arena by @fightingwords_mma

UFC 323 - The last pay-per-view EVER. Thank god.

Merab has never given us a reason to doubt him, so I’m obviously rocking with him tonight. Pantoja is exceedingly better than Josh Van. Moreno is either extremely conscious of his exposure level or he’s not as dedicated to the fight world as he used to be. I think Taira should take this one. Cejudo spoke pretty candidly about all the injuries and struggles he had during training camp. I’m going with Payton here. Finally, Jan may have a couple wins left in him but I don’t think tonight is going to be one of them. Should be a great night of fights 👊🏼

Hey team - I gotta plug one of my new favorite podcasts, Love & War with @dominickcruz. Dom is only three episodes in and it’s fantastic. Especially for those who really loved the Team Alpha Male vs. Alliance era of the UFC. The Cruz and Faber rivalry did a lot for the lighter divisions and generated an interest in those fighters that hadn’t historically been there. They were also opposites. Cruz represented discipline and calculated mastery; Faber represented aura, heart, and leadership. Their clash of styles wasn’t just physical—it was philosophical. And that contrast is exactly what makes the rivalry so compelling.

Can’t wait for more episodes of this 👊🏼

UFC 322 - As the nature boy would say: “WOOOOO!!”

This is a great card from top to bottom. And where better to host it than MSG?? I like Beneil here because he seems to always be an underdog against guys like BSD, yet he always surprises everyone and wins. He might be a gatekeeper, but he looked great against Moicano. Prates over Leon. I think Leon is on the slide and Prates is making his run. Easy choice here. Sean Brady gets it done forsure. I like Valentina here and then I think she should retire. There’s nothing left to prove after this W outside of fighting Amanda again. With Amanda and Kayla Harrison in the works it doesn’t seem like that trilogy is ever going to happen. Or it’s going to happen way too late. Finally, I like Islam because how could you ever doubt him? It’s a way tougher fight than odds will show, but Islam and that team in Dagestan are just simply cold blooded killers. Don’t expect much success on the feet for Islam, but I could see him grinding out a decision or third/fourth round submission. Should be a great night of fights 👊🏼

The UFC’s parent company, TKO Group, signed a 7 year / $7.7 Billion dollar deal with Paramount for exclusive rights to the UFC’s events. Starting in 2026 all UFC events will be on Paramount+ and a select few will be on CBS. For perspective, ESPN has been paying $500 million a year for UFC rights. Do the math and Paramount has doubled the company’s worth and agreed to pay $1.1 Billion a year. It was a bit of a bidding war between Netflix, Paramount, & ESPN.
It’s a huge win for UFC execs, Paramount, and the fans. The ones that are negatively impacted by this deal are the fighters. My take:

The UFC has always had PPVs. Their big events cost $79.99 and only some UFC fans find ways to pay. Many fans illegally stream the fights for free. Dana White has tried for decades to curb illegal streaming, but it’s virtually impossible to eliminate. This deal is Dana and co tacitly forfeiting this battle. Smart. The switch from PPVs will without question draw more viewers to the sport.

Why is it bad for fighters? Here’s how fighters in the UFC get paid:

1. Show Money: You get this money for showing up to the event.
2. Win Money: This “Win money” is usually the same amount as your show money. You only get this money if you win the fight.

Fighter X will get $30k to show up, and another $30k if they win for a total of $60k. If they lose then they leave with $30k. Then there’s bonuses. The bonuses are Fight of the Night & Performance of the Night. They are $50k each. You can win both too.

The last part, reserved for select superstars, is PPV points. PPV points let you get a percentage of the money generated by PPV buys. McGregor has made tens of millions of dollars from PPV points. This new deal eliminates PPV points.

The UFC doesn’t have a players union. Dana’s quote when asked how the deal would impact fighter pay was “We’ve got some smart kids in accounting who’ll figure it out.” There is no union he has to negotiate with. W/o PPV points there’s not an avenue for fighters to make generational wealth. We won’t truly know if this a good or bad thing for fighters until the UFC details their new compensation plan. We’ll see how it all plays out. by @fightingwords_mma

UFC 319 Picks - This main event has everything fans want and could easily go down as the best fight of 2025. A dominant champion, undefeated in the UFC, takes on the most feared fighter in the sport.

There’s two sides to Khamzat. 9/10 times, he comes out like a bat out of hell and wins the fight in the opening minutes. However, when he can’t find that quick finish he starts to fade and slow down. Usman and Burns went the distance with him and those were by far his closest fights.

DDP deserves his flowers. He took the belt off Sean in a close decision, then came back around and left no doubt the second time they fought. He submitted Izzy, beat Bobby Knuckles, and finished Brunson. Just to name a few big wins. The one thing that worries me is he keeps talking about being able to beat Khamzat over 5 rounds. I don’t love it when a fighter is gameplanning to win by decision. Especially against someone like Khamzat who hunts relentlessly for an early finish.

Either way, this could be the best fight of the year. Get your popcorn ready, cause you don’t wanna miss this one 👊🏼

The time GSP assembled an avengers level team to corner him. It’s gotta be the greatest lineup of cornermen ever. From left to right:

John Danaher (Jiu-Jitsu Coach): 6th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Renzo Gracie. Head coach of Gordan Ryan (the pound-for-pound greatest no-gi grappler in history) and the former leader of the Danaher Death Squad (Nicky Ryan, Craig Jones, Gary Tonan, & Nicky Rod). He was enrolled in a Ph.D program at Columbia University for philosophy when he was introduced to Jiu-jitsu. He became absolutely obsessed with the sport, quit his program, and went on to become one of the greatest jiu-jitsu instructors ever.

Greg Jackson (Assistant Coach): Founder of Jackson Wink MMA. Jackson Wink has produced countless UFC world champions, including the greatest of all time: Jon “Bones” Jones. Other champions include Frank Mir, BJ Penn, Holly Holm, Rashad Evans, Andrei Arlovski, & Carlos Condit. Greg Jackson focused on game-planning and mental preparation with GSP.

Firas Zhahabi (Head Coach): Head of Tristar Gym in Montreal, Canada. He’s known as the mastermind behind GSP. Firas is one of the greatest coaches in MMA history and worked hand in hand with George when it came to game-planning, strategy, and his striking.

Phil Nurse (Muay Thai / Kickboxing Coach): Phil Nurse can be seen holding pads for GSP throughout his career. Phil is a multiple time world champion in Muay Thai and kickboxing. Phil worked closely with George to help develop his knees, kicks, and overall striking game. As GSP’s career progressed you started to notice a fluidity to his striking. Calm, calculated, and precise shots. That development in his game was definitely due to the work with Phil.
