Ulambayaryn Byambajav was destined to become a sumo wrestler. At the age of 9, he had already achieved success and won titles in Judo, Wrestling, and Sambo. He would soon be recruited by former Yokozuna Onokuni and by the age of 17…he made his professional debut. Byamba would continue to achieved success and achieved the rank of makushita. But after enduring a tiring schedule of the life of a pro, Byamba would retire and travel to the US… expanding his legacy within the amateur sumo wrestling scene. During this time, he would become a 2x Sumo World Champion and an 8x US Suno Open Champion…with the record of 110-7 W/L. Byamba is remembered by his larger than life personality, his kind heart, and his passion for sumo.
