Along one of Tanjong Pagar’s most storied stretches, this three-storey heritage shophouse has stood for more than a century. Behind its jalousie windows and geometric façade, old timber floors, collected pieces and quiet corners make room for a different rhythm of city living.

In theatre, a vignette is a brief scene. Vignette House was conceived as a tribute to its owner Hugh Tan’s contributions to Singapore theatre.

Before Tanjong Pagar became the neighbourhood we know today, this was a place shaped by docks, trade and movement.

Dock House takes its name from that earlier chapter of Blair Road, when the area sat between the working waterfront and the growing town beyond.

Today, the pace is different. Step inside and the shophouse becomes a quieter kind of retreat; layered with history, but made for living now.

Dock House opens with a story: Blair Road, the 1880s. Busy docks. Goods in transit. Fortunes made between port and town. Named after John Blair of the Tanjong Pagar Dock Company, the street grew at a time when this part of Singapore was a threshold between sea and city.

We took the spirit of that era and carried it into Dock House: not the nautical, but the purposeful. A home shaped by movement, industry and the quiet confidence of things made to work well.
