One of the most epic hotel rooms we’ve stayed in!

A luxury stay in the Yasawa Islands of Fiji 🇫🇯 🏨

When you think of Fiji, its easy to synonimize it with luxury - as is the case with some notoriously slated luxurious destinations. People are quick to tell you that these places are “honeymoon destinations” or exclusive to anniversary celebrants.

But why can’t they also be ideal for solo travelers, or any traveler for that matter?

This is often the case even for accommodations. However, I say...if you cant find the example, be the example. Break the mold! 😆

That was just what I did when I arranged my stay at @nanuyaislandresort

If asked: “Are you celebrating a special occasion or anniversary?”

My answer: Yes! The anniversary of my birth! Thats my special occasion. 😂🎉
**I really was celebrating my birthday! 🎂🥳**

So I decided to stay in the biggest villa at @nanuyaislandresort . Cause, why not? 🤣

This luxury villa, known affectionately as “Vale Ni Tadra” or the House of Dreams, lived up to its name. 👌🏾 Secluded to one side of the resort, with views of the Pacific Ocean 🌊 from almost every angle, this villa was breathtaking. The property itself is located on the sunset side of Nanuya island, and you know what the means? Staying in the luxury villa gave you the most stunning views of the sunset. 🌅 Heck, even the sunrises. I would actually wake up early just to watch the sun peering through over the mountains and the ocean.

There are so many reasons to fall in love with this accommodation:
🔑 Private entrance and gardens 🌱
🛋️ Outdoor living area, with full amenities
🚿 Outdoor shower
🏖️ Easy and private access directly to the beach
🌊 An expansive ocean and mountain facing veranda ⛰️
🛀 Private jacuzzi
🔌 Wifi
🧖🏾‍♀️ Spa-like bathroom

This is the kind of stay that will bring on a whole new meaning to sleeping in paradise. ✨

The idea of island hopping 🏝️ in Fiji sounds exciting, but with all that hopping you are sure to need a place to rest your head.

Nanuya Island Resort @nanuyaislandresort is the perfect answer for that! 🥰

Situated on Nanuya Lailai Island of the Yasawa island chain, this all encompassing resort provides a subtle luxury feel while giving you a true Fijian experience.

✨ Perks of staying Nanuya Island Resort ✨

📍 Location: Nanuya island is one of the furtherest/ Northern most islands in the Yasawa chain. That typically means it is also one of the most beautiful. Though its remoteness can be a bit intimidating, the hospitality and care you’ll receive at the resort with minimize all those thoughts.

🤵🏾‍♂️Staff: Hands down some of the best staff I have ever met. Aside from having that sweet Fijian nature 💕, they make a genuine effort to get to know each and everyone of their guests.

🛏️ Accommodations: There are two residencies at this resort.
- Boathouse Nanuya - A cheaper, yet central hotel with less lavish amenities than the resort.

- Nanuya Island Resort - The main resort, consisting of villas and bungalows.

🥘 Food: I never ate so good while in Fiji! Guests were always excited for breakfast, lunch, and especially dinner. The menu was frequently changed and every meal was exceptional! 👌🏾

🤿 Activities: They host a wide variety of activities including - snorkeling 🐠, shark diving 🦈, kava making, spa experiences 🧖🏾‍♀️, boat rides 🚤, crab racing 🦀, singalongs 🎶, etc.

Nanuya Island Resort is a must visit when you are passing through the Yasawa islands.
Trust me, you wont want to leave!

5 Tips you’ll need to visit the Yasawa islands of Fiji 🇫🇯

If you thought getting to mainland Fiji was tough. Getting to the Yasawa islands will be a journey! 😅
Here are a few tips that will help TREMENDOUSLY.

1. Carry Fijian dollars 💵 and travel credit cards 💳
Some islands may not have ATMs 🏧 . Upon arrival on mainland Fiji (📍Viti Levu), get enough cash to last you the duration of your trip in the Yasawas.
Book your stays in advance so that the cash will go toward food and activities. Also bring your travel credit cards as backup, just in case.

2. Visa not required for stays less than 4 months
You read that right! Fiji is visa free. As long as you have a valid passport, you are free to go.

3. Select an island chain and book transfers in advance 🏝️
There are typically two island chains you can visit : Mamanuca islands and Yasawa islands.
The Mamanuca islands are just above mainland (Viti Levu), but the Yasawa islands are right above them.
Each chain consists of about 20 islands, some inhabited and some not.
Luckily the ones most frequented can easily be visited through the Yasawa Flyer ferry. Spearheaded by @awesomeadventuresfiji , this ferry allows you to move between the islands comfortably.

4. Book your accommodation in advance 🏨
You cannot visit the islands without a CONFIRMED accommodation booking. Due to the remoteness, advanced booking not only guarantees your lodging but sufficient food for your visit, should you decide to have meals included with your stay. Some accommodations will require you get some type of meal plan with your stay, and others will provide food with your booking, optionally.

5. Purchase an eSIM on mainland Fiji 📱
Be aware that you will be in the middle of the ocean, with little to no service. In case of an emergency, you will need a good eSIM with lasting service for the duration of your trip.

⚡️Pro Tip
Get an eSIM at the airport and have the staff at the shop program your phone.
