For ONE WAY TICKET, Vicky Filippa and I, together with Quantum Body Athens and musician Alexandros Mitros, developed Exiled_Birds.exe, a five-channel video work and butoh performance exploring bodies, memory and institutionalisation. WHAT IF THE ANCESTOR LIVING INSIDE YOU COMES FROM THE FUTURE? THE ANCESTOR — one of ORI GIN’s transformations. My Name Is: ORI GIN is a Butoh performance created and performed by Vicky Filippa—a journey through the body’s memory, its transformations and nonlinear time. Half satyr, half remnant—or perhaps an artefact imagination—she emerges from a time before memory, or from a future that has already learned how to remember. Familiar and uncanny. Some traces from my performance “My Name is: Ori Gin”performed this summer in Samos, as part of POAI cultural festival Fragments from the final scene — the last transformation. A body, an ancient theatre, an island. What remained was only a trace.
It outlived time and took human form. Beautifully captured by Maria Kiloukiotou … I am sand.
