"I own a coffee roasting company which is a few miles from the house. I woke up on a Saturday and realized we were out of coffee. The cobblers children have no shoes 😭. Halfway to the shop this incredible rainbow about ran me off the road. I threw the car into the closest parking lot and spent the next 45 minutes taking pictures in the rain.
⠀
I felt affirmed about how amazing life could be, even at the the wake of a global crisis. My friend Dominic has been building a small developing lab at home, he’s the reason I started shooting film and it’s been such a gift during these trying times."

Roland ‘Charlie’ Phillips has been documenting the social evolution of London since his teens.
⠀
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, 1944. He grew up with his grandparents in St. Mary and at age 11 he travelled to Britain to join his parents in Notting Hill.
⠀
Here he began to capture the pre-gentrified community, taking photos with a Kodak Brownie. He was forced to leave soon after the first Notting Hill race riots, with his family choosing to emigrate to America.
 ⠀
By the time they arrived a letter had been delivered by the US Government conscripting Charlie to serve in the Vietnam war.
⠀
Choosing not to kill for America, he tore up his draft papers and hitched hiked across Europe, settling in Rome using his self taught photographic skills to become a paparazzi during the 'La Dolce Vita' period in the 60‘s.

“I use film, because 35mm film has built the basis for the history of our technical image today."

Happy birthday to @thomaskellnersiegen who turns 54!

Kellner is known for his complex project “Tango Metropolis", where he created a series of unique mosiac-style panoramas of popular tourist destinations all around the world.
⠀
One of our favourites from his series - San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge, consisting of more than 20 rolls of film, with the final image being made up of 624 frames!

"This picture was taken at sunrise in Waikiki. Me and my fiancé waded out to a sandbar area. I noticed her floating on her back, so I took out my Pentax 67 and shot a couple of frames."

📸🎈On this day in 1906 the great Swedish inventor and photographer Victor Hasselblad was born!
⠀
Victor produced some of the most iconic cameras in history which put Hasselblad on the map, including their first consumer camera, the 1600F, as well as the 1000F, 500C, and the 500 EL.
⠀
Here he is outside the Hasselblad Headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. Posing with the Hasselblad Data Camera (HDC), which was specifically designed for the lunar surface!
⠀
“I certainly don’t think that we will earn much money on this, but at least it will allow us to take pictures for free."

💥Happy 76th birthday to Sebastião Salgado! 💥
⠀
“I can be an artist a posteriori, not a priori. If my pictures tell the story, our story, human story, then in a hundred years, then they can be considered an art reference, but now they are not made as art. I’m a journalist. My life’s on the road, my studio is the planet.”
