BREAKING! 2026 CALENDAR ANNOUNCED!

With the schedule condensed from six to five rounds to reduce logistical costs and encourage participation, the title fight will get under way with the all-new 🇲🇦 Morocco Sand Race across the weekend of 26-27 September that will be staged on the beach at Mazagan (El Jadida), located around one-hundred kilometres south of the fabled city of Casablanca, on the Atlantic coast.

Competitors will then return to more familiar surroundings for 🇮🇹 Italy’s Bibione Sand Storm that is back for the third consecutive season and will run from 23-25 October.

Last visited as part of the championship in 2024, the Ronde des Sables – Loon Plage, near Dunkerque in northern France 🇫🇷, returns to the calendar for round three on 7-8 November before the action shifts south to 🇵🇹 Portugal’s beautiful Algarve where the Monte Gordo Sand Race – a firm favourite on the calendar since the series’ inaugural year in 2023 – is scheduled for 27-29 November.

The 2026-2027 FIM Sand Races World Championship will conclude in the New Year with the fifty-first edition of the world-famous Enduropale du Touquet Pas-de-Calais in northern France 🇫🇷 on a date to be confirmed.

🇲🇦 FIM Sand Race Morocco 🇲🇦
Round 1 of the FIM Championship

What an experience to have the opportunity to travel to Morocco and take part in the full championship season! 🙏🏽🏁

Before the race, we made a few adjustments to the quad and focused on making sure the engine would stay reliable throughout the race. Of course, this came with a compromise: we lost some speed on the long straights.

Saturday – Race 1
A bad start saw me entering the first corner around P15. From there, I managed to fight my way forward and finish in a strong P5.

Sunday – Race 2
A much better start this time! I managed to run in the top 5 for the first two laps, but eventually dropped back to P6 due to the lack of speed on the long straights.

P1 at the first round of the world championship🔥

1-3 in the races for 1 overall

Had a nice lead in the second moto today until we had a small issue. The team worked their magic in the pitstop to fix the bike so we could finish the race and still secure the overall victory! So this was a real team win💪

Also really cool to have a blue podium💙

🇲🇦 MAROKKO – WAS FÜR EIN WOCHENENDE 🏁

Zuerst einmal: Chapeau an die FIM und alle Beteiligten für eine wirklich gelungene Veranstaltung hier in Marokko! Direkt am Strand vor unserem Hotel zu fahren, war schon etwas Besonderes. Afrika ist definitiv anders als Europa und genau das hat dieses Wochenende so speziell gemacht. 🙌

Am Samstag konnte ich von einer schwierigen Startposition aus immer besser meinen Rhythmus finden und mich am Ende auf P15 vorkämpfen.

Der Sonntag begann dafür richtig stark: Ein super Start brachte mich als Achter in die erste Kurve, und diese Position konnte ich auch die ersten beiden Runden halten.
Dann hieß es leider: Vom Hero zum Zero.
Ich hatte plötzlich einen kompletten Ausfall der Hinterradbremse. In einer Kurve kam das Motorrad nicht mehr rechtzeitig zum Stehen und landete in einer Düne. Bis ich das Motorrad dort wieder befreit hatte, ging extrem viel Zeit verloren.

Ohne Hinterradbremse weiterzufahren, war zunächst ziemlich frustrierend. Aber Aufgeben war keine Option. Also Fahrstil umstellen, damit abfinden und weiter! ✊
Nach ein paar Runden kam ich immer besser damit zurecht, fand meinen Rhythmus wieder und konnte mich durchs Feld zurückkämpfen.

Am Ende: P14 am Sonntag und P13 gesamt in Marokko – und damit wichtige Punkte für die WM-Wertung gesammelt. 🌍🏆

Und vor allem nehme ich viele positive Dinge mit nach Hause: Mein erstes Rennwochenende auf der Yamaha, heute 167 km/h Topspeed und ein Motorrad, auf dem ich mich immer wohler fühle.
Jetzt gilt es herauszufinden, was den Ausfall der Hinterradbremse verursacht hat. Wenn wir dieses Problem noch in den Griff bekommen, bin ich mit unserem Setup wirklich super happy.

Und natürlich ein ganz besonderer Dank an meinen Arbeitgeber KAESER Kompressoren, der mir diese Möglichkeit gibt und dafür sorgt, dass ich mit einer Vorbereitung antreten kann, die mich im Vergleich zum vergangenen Jahr einen großen Schritt nach vorne gebracht hat. 🙏

Bonne mise en jambes pour nos deux pilotes 450, @antoinealix_ et @camchapcc ici au Maroc pour la première épreuve du Mondial des Sables 💪🏼

@antoinealix_ signe une 9e et une 5e place tandis que @camchapcc termine 7e hier, mais aujourd’hui verra sa course écourtée à 10 minutes de la fin alors qu’il était en quatrième position !

On se retrouve dans 3 semaines à Berck-sur-Mer pour l’ouverture du Championnat de France 💛

Première épreuve de la saison faite au Maroc 🇲🇦 ✅

Des sensations positives sur la moto et une meilleure course pour moi le dimanche sur une piste plus trouée.
Plusieurs points à travailler mais de bonnes informations pour la suite du championnat et avant l’ouverture du CFS à Berck.
