One of my happiest and most unforgettable moments on stage 🤍 Being part of Fin de Fiesta at the Resolution Festival, the UK’s biggest platform for new choreography, and performing at a space as prestigious as The Place, is something I’ll always hold close.This moment captures the ending of a section built as a jugalbandi — a question–answer exchange — with an extraordinary senior flamenco artist @juancarlosotero101, @ago_hernandez on the Cajon & @jabbaristan on the Darbuka. To share the stage as part of a 15-member ensemble of artists, each so strong in their own form, and to represent Bharatanatyam within a cross-cultural flamenco work, in front of a sold-out audience, felt nothing short of a blessing.What made this experience truly special was the ability to collaborate across cultures without diluting the integrity of our art forms — instead finding where they meet, listen, and respond to one another. The conversations after the show, the questions about process and creation, all came back to one simple truth: a shared love and joy for dance.Thank you, @irenegimenezm @lyyyydd @fin.de.fiesta for making me a part of this ❤️ and to @beejadance for connecting me to such a beautiful community. @gayatrisriram_ , wouldn’t be here without you. MEET THE ARTISTS of “Encuentros” PART 5!! (last part!!)🌟 @varun.shivakumar_ began training in Bharatanatyam at the age of five and completed his solo debut in 2022. He has performed at leading venues in India, including the Music Academy Madras (Spirit of Youth series), Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Narada Gana Sabha, and Kalakshetra Foundation, as well as internationally at the Nehru Centre, London and Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Singapore. His work has been recognised with several awards, including the Best Performer Award 2024 from Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha. Now based in the UK, Varun is also a student of Carnatic vocal music, alongside pursuing a BSc in Business Management, and is the founder of Paramparika Creation.💃🏽 @lourdesfernandezflamenco has been dancing since she was five years old. From that moment on, her whole life developed through the learning of flamenco. She studied dance at the Madrid Conservatory, graduated at Rey Juan Carlos University and completed her Masters in Performing Arts. She also taught dance at the American Saint Louis University of Madrid and participated in the International Dance Gala for UNESCO.🎸 @phrygian_man Michael McMahon is a British and Cypriot flamenco guitarist.
