APERTURE 2027 a short film by @thegoodbyeghoul and @alexandra.boulas, is the first of many collaborations between FinalGhoul and @violetweaverfilms. “Stuck between a rock, a hard place, and an impending move-out date, Cass is a photographer strapped for cash and desperate for a fresh start. After an unusual last-minute headshot session with a very particular client, she is stalked by a terrifying apparition that only she can see. Is this all in her head, or will she succumb to the haunting?” DP and Lighting: @jsfox531 starring: @marisa.bertani @alexandra.boulas @crystalloverro @macy.jacob with production support by @camdrummond HUGE thank you to our cast and crew for playing pretend with us on such a last-minute production. This film was thrown together with 3 days of prep, and was only possible with their help and participation. Aperture is now in post production, and soon the fest circuit will begin. We are so excited to share this one! by @finalghoul.mov

FANG FEST 2026 SOLD OUT. Over 300 patrons. One little indie film that could. And I’m still buzzing. Columbus, Ohio really showed up for us, as it always does. For our inaugural year, this was such a humbling success. More than 250 people stayed after the Street Faire closed at 9 PM for the hometown premiere of WHAT’S WRONG, WENDY? So many of our cast members joined us to mingle with fans, and 75 VIP ticket holders partied with us inside Green Lawn’s chapel/mausoleum at the AfterLife After Party. Apparently, even the dead appreciate a good after-party. Watching Wendy with that audience was something I’ll never forget. Hearing people behind us react to the dialogue, catch the little jokes, and burst into laughter at all the right moments made every exhausting hour we poured into this movie feel worth it. We got to hear our hard work come to life through a crowd that was right there with us. To our art, food, and drink vendors, thank you for bringing your creativity, flavor, and energy. To the Green Lawn staff and our volunteers, thank you for helping bring this wonderfully weird idea to life. To our Filmmakers who gave us their art to include and show the amazing work that comes out of this region. And to everyone who bought a ticket, wandered the faire, watched our movie, or stayed to celebrate: thank you for showing up for independent film and the community behind it. This was, by far, the biggest event I’ve ever organized. With my incredible team and the support of Matt and Randy at Green Lawn Cemetery, we blew our own expectations out of the water. I’m so proud of what we built together. Year one: a success. Fang Fest 2027: gears already turning. Event photos by @adrianadap by @finalghoul.mov

Before I bombard you with Fang Fest 2026 photos, I need to thank the people who made this sold-out night, and What’s Wrong, Wendy?, possible. Dusty, Athena, Aaron, Chuck, Rana, and Ann: words will never cover what I owe you. I love you, and I hope my actions show how grateful I am. I couldn’t have done this without you, and I wouldn’t have wanted to either. Thank you for becoming a Home to me. Matt and Randy: in 2024, we filmed Best Wishes at Green Lawn. Then we spent overnights there shooting a feature. And somehow, we came back to premiere it at a huge, sold-out Fang Fest. Your support has meant more than I can say. I hope the proceeds gave even a fraction of that back. To the Wendy cast and crew: you gave your talent, time, and heart to this strange little movie. Seeing it on that screen with so many of you and an audience INSIDE GREEN LAWN, was one of the most proud and surreal moments I’ve ever had as a filmmaker. Thank you for helping make my dreams come true back in 2025, and then being here now to see it come to fruition. To our volunteers, event photographer, and Green Lawn staff: many of you didn’t even know me, yet you showed up and made this night run safely and beautifully. Thank you for giving your time and care to something that means the world to me. To my friends, family, and Ally: every piece of me went into this movie and this event, which means pieces of you are in them too. I hope you feel proud of what we made together. Your love is the kind I hope to put back into the world. And to Green Lawn Abbey and the audience members who literally held down the projector screen when the wind had other plans: thank you for saving the show and donating time/muscles/and the setup that allowed us to share our movie #fangfest2026 #fangfest #columbusohio #greenlawncemetery #ohiofilm also special shoutout to @ericrami91 who gifted me this beautiful mini Slayer Scythe… you dont know this but i left that interaction in tears. thank you for the gift, but also the insane amount of support you have always shown me. really happy i get to call you a friend. by @finalghoul.mov

So very honored to be a @filmquest alum for the second year in a row. ChokeHold was heavily inspired by religious trauma and internalized homophobia, two things that continue to plague so many people in my community. I wrote the short screenplay, handed it to my sister Dusty Austen, and she basically said, “Okay, so let’s film it.” A type of unwavering support she is very well known for and very good at. We made something deeply personal to me, and now we get to share it with our FilmQuest family. See you in Provo. 🖤 by @finalghoul.mov

Fang Fest is getting LOUD. We’re so excited to welcome two independent artists to Green Lawn Cemetery for live music during Fang Fest 2026. Taking the stage is Eric Stroud, a longtime friend and familiar face to FinalGhoul Films and our projects. Eric is also a vocalist for Accuse the Villain, who took the stage at Inkcarceration Festival this year. We’re also welcoming The Vitascopes, who have a special connection to What’s Wrong, Wendy? Their bass player also happens to be Wendy’s very own VFX makeup artist, because apparently making monsters wasn’t enough. She had to make music, too. Fang Fest is all about celebrating independent artists in every form. Film. Music. Art. The wonderfully weird people making cool shit right here in our community. Hear some killer local music. Explore the vendors. Tour the cemetery. Meet filmmakers. Then stick around as the sun goes down for the hometown premiere of What’s Wrong, Wendy? in the cemetery where we filmed it. FANG FEST 2026 September 26, 2026 Green Lawn Cemetery Columbus, Ohio Independent film. Independent music. Local art. One big spooky night. Grab your tickets and come celebrate with us. #columbusohio #fangfest2026 #indiefilm #spookyseason by @finalghoul.mov
Last year, the screenplay for What’s Wrong, Wendy? was an Official Selection at HorrorHound. For nearly five years, this festival has felt like home. It’s practically in my backyard, and every year it was the event I looked forward to most. This year, Wendy returns in a much bigger way. What’s Wrong, Wendy? will make its world premiere at HorrorHound in Cincinnati, Ohio. What started as a screenplay has become a completed feature film, and now it’s coming back home in the most full-circle way imaginable. See you at HorrorHound. 🖤 #horrorhoundweekend #wlw #whatswrongwendy #indiefilm #lgbtq by @finalghoul.mov
