For our inaugural year, this was such a humbling success. More than 250 people stayed after the Street Faire closed at 9 PM for the hometown premiere of WHAT’S WRONG, WENDY? So many of our cast members joined us to mingle with fans, and 75 VIP ticket holders partied with us inside Green Lawn’s chapel/mausoleum at the AfterLife After Party. Apparently, even the dead appreciate a good after-party.
Watching Wendy with that audience was something I’ll never forget. Hearing people behind us react to the dialogue, catch the little jokes, and burst into laughter at all the right moments made every exhausting hour we poured into this movie feel worth it. We got to hear our hard work come to life through a crowd that was right there with us.
To our art, food, and drink vendors, thank you for bringing your creativity, flavor, and energy. To the Green Lawn staff and our volunteers, thank you for helping bring this wonderfully weird idea to life. To our Filmmakers who gave us their art to include and show the amazing work that comes out of this region. And to everyone who bought a ticket, wandered the faire, watched our movie, or stayed to celebrate: thank you for showing up for independent film and the community behind it.
This was, by far, the biggest event I’ve ever organized. With my incredible team and the support of Matt and Randy at Green Lawn Cemetery, we blew our own expectations out of the water. I’m so proud of what we built together.

Hello! I hope you’re doing well. 🖤 I’m IRYE, an independent screenwriter and multidisciplinary artist based in South Korea, currently developing my debut feature, In Praise Of Our Ruin, a psychological queer drama / black comedy. I’m hoping to bring the project into UK production and move to the UK in 2027 to develop my work. I’ve been exploring programmes such as MIDPOINT and TorinoFilmLab, as well as the UK Global Screen Fund, but finding the right UK-based producer and development opportunities from South Korea has been challenging.
