Trump Media & Technology Group (owner of Truth Social) is rolling out “Truth API” from 1 August — a paid, millisecond-speed feed delivering posts from the platform’s top-ranked accounts straight to institutional clients, 24/7. Donald Trump has more followers than anyone else on the app, and his posts — especially on trade and tariffs — have a track record of moving markets. Because his family is still the majority shareholder in Trump Media, he stands to profit personally if firms pay to get his statements seconds before everyone else. One securities lawyer said it’s legally fine but “doesn’t seem fair,” while critics call it an unprecedented blur between his private business and his job as president. Pricing hasn’t been announced, and the White House declined to comment.

New gambling mode just dropped

Since 2001, if you wanted to day trade in the US with less than $25,000 in your account, you were basically locked out. The SEC’s “Pattern Day Trader” rule capped small investors at just 3 day trades per week — a rule born from the dot-com crash to “protect” retail traders from themselves.

That rule is now dead. The SEC just approved scrapping the $25,000 minimum entirely, replacing it with a real-time risk model where your margin requirements are based on your actual position exposure — not your account size. Translation: you can day trade freely regardless of how much you have in your account.

The market loved it. Robinhood shot up ~16% across two days. Webull surged nearly 9%. All this because more retail traders able to trade freely = more order flow = more revenue for the brokers. It’s a win for the little guy — or a green light to blow up small accounts faster, depending on how you look at it.

After days of questions over how to fund his social care reforms in England, Burnham pointed to changing the triple lock to generate “significant savings”. His plans would see the state pension increase every year at least by inflation or 2.5% - but remove the automatic annual link with average earnings.

This is all a condition of Labour being reelected in 2030.

Apple knocked for $5.7bn

Apple has been ordered to pay $5.7bn (£4.3bn) after a US jury found it used haptics tech patented by audio firm Taction Technology without permission. That’s the buzz you feel on your iPhone and Apple Watch when you get a message or tap a button.

Taction sued in 2021. A judge sided with Apple in 2023, but an appeal sent it to a jury trial, and this time the jury went the other way. Apple says it never used Taction’s tech and will appeal.

Earlier this week, an independent commission reportedly ruled against them on 114 of the 115 charges brought by the Premier League over financial breaches between 2009 and 2018, including false accounting and failing to cooperate with the investigation. No punishment has been decided yet, sanctions could range from a fine to points deductions or even expulsion, and City are expected to appeal, meaning the saga is far from over. The club maintains its innocence and says the process “remains ongoing.”

The assistant is now landing on Meta’s AI glasses lineup (Ray-Ban, Oakley, and Meta Glasses — 100+ styles planned by year-end), plus a $1,299 VR headset teased for spring 2027 and a “Muse Charm” pendant for the holidays.

A Morgan Stanley employee mistakenly emailed an internal document revealing details on more than 100 investment-banking deals, primarily across Asia.

The document included potential IPOs from China, South Korea and India, along with information on private-equity and pension-fund backers and projects that had been paused.

The employee later attempted to retract the email, while a blurred copy surfaced on Instagram.

Since, Morgan Stanley has said it acted quickly to address the leak and is working with the parties involved.
