✅ Money 20/20 MiddleEast, 📍Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦

I was part of a panel where we discussed how consumers( ie YOU & ME) have less trust in the finance institutions such as banks today, and instead people gather information through social media from creators like myself!

Personally, as much as financial institutions hate people like me😆 lets be honest.

👉 Social media and fininfluencers have reduced the hierarchy between institutions and common person. They can no longer throw jargons and intimidate us. If we don’t understand something, we seek to understand it first. Not just blindly trust the institution.

👉ALSOOO, it has pushed these institutions to do better- Better products, lower their EXTORTIONATE fees😒, and be more customer friendly(not just in words but in action too!!).

I had the pleasure of collaborating with @thetimes as part of their Couch to £5k initiative, assisting Louise & Paul in boosting their savings by an additional £5,400 in 2024!!💸💸

How did I develop their action plan?
✔️ Reviewed their monthly finances, what areas could be improved to formulate a smart spending strategy.

Any Red Flags? 🚩
- Their grocery bills amounted to £600/month from an initial estimate of £400.
- They were considering moving into a larger home🏡 without factoring the % increase in phantom costs and other increased expenses — insurance and council tax. After our sit-down discussion, they realized the need to be more financially armed before considering this BIG move.

How can this couple start investing?
✅ Explored setting up a Junior ISA for their daughter, projecting an amount of atleast £16,900 by the time she reaches 18 with a monthly contribution of just £50. This could be easily kept aside and even grow further with higher monthly contributions towards her tuition and higher-ed.

Here’s to Louise and Paul living their dream lives with smart finances! 🥂
