This is me practicing ’The Music Never Stopped’ becoming one of my favorite Bobby songs, Phil’s melodic line in the A verse is one of my favs. Rest in peace Bob Weir ❤️ Grateful to have experienced the magic he created in person. Rest in peace Donna and Phil that bring this song to life for me. Being a young person playing and surrounded by this music we’ve been dreading this moment, so uncertain about what the future of it might hold without the real dead as an example. All I know is Bobby would want us to continue on because we celebrate his life in the music. It’s never been about being them note for note, we won’t become tribute bands. This music is always a shared expression and everyone that plays approaches it differently. Seeing so many musicians that knew Bobby speak so highly of him has been inspiring and reminded me that music is and always will be best the way he saw it, as a collaboration. The Grateful Dead were so unique because there are die hard fans from every generation alive today and now it lies on us to push it forwards. Here’s to 300 more years <33 💀⚡️🌹
