THUN TO AOSTA FOR COFFEE AND PIZZA. 🇮🇹

192km | +8'500hm | -9'000hm | 59h total | 29h moving. solo and self supported north - south alps crossing. something between pushing hard and enjoying outdoors like a kid. started monday 7am at home in thun direction diemtigtal climbed over the grimmifurge to lenk. in a brutal heat climbed up to rawylpass and crossed the border bern - wallis. 2 lakedips on over 2'500m then a loooong downhill to sion.. in a absolute hell of a summerday.. was crazy and i decided to sleep here at km85.

second day was even hoter.. the climb from sion to lac de clueson was maybe the hardest stuff i ever did in my life.. i wasnt sweating anymore and had some shaking attacks and massive headpain. after arriving at refugee saint laurent i felt better after a applejuice and 1h rest. after this came the most beautiful part. le grand desert, what a unreal place i felt like a lost adventurer sonwhere on another planet.. the sun was burning so crazy and the last part of this endless climb to col de louvie was a headgame. "just keep going for 30min" then 5min rest.. this all day long! the downhill to fionnay was absolutely beautiful and absolutely mental.. looong neverending but at 8pm (km142) i arrived in this little village where everything was already closed and i was so lost. hungry, burned, and confused wothout any plan. some nice people asked me if im okay.. i said yes, just lost and hungry. they showed me where i could stay for the night.. a room with 10 beds just for me.. and the nonna opened the kitchen again and made pasta just for me. moments like this are rare and showed me again how nice people can be.

last part started direction lac de mauvoisin a huge reservoir before the climb to italy.. thats my favourite part of the route.. the climb to fenêtre de durand from wallis to aosta italy was soulfood. felt sooo good i couldnt belive it was so easy and my mindset was on top and i saw it would be possible to push the sub 60h to the goal.
PART 2 IN THE COMMENTS.

oh life you beautiful endless rollercoaster. 💔🎢🥲

oh life why i feel you like i do? so much passion, so much fire, feelings. all these thoughts and doubts. all the smiles all over the miles. can you feel me? the happiness, the joy, the pain? oh life you severely teacher.. 90sec from hours of filming. hours of doing things that brings a smile to your heart, the fire into your soul and a mind that is just absolutely in the moment. moments where you can feel that everything is gonna be ok because it is now. moments of touch, joy and adventures. where you forgot everything else and nothing is more necessary then this what gives you that good feeling in your belly. i get very emotional here. a tiny tear on my cheek but a big smile on my face. this was one of the most purest years of my life. where i changed a lot and tried to trust and leave room for miracles. always keep that fire in your heart. life is short. do something real with it.

alone, the unknown, only the noise of your own breath and the rocks under your feet. breathe in, breathe out. everything is connected right now. my soul, the mountain, the air, my body. everything in his right place. just here, in the moment. nothing else in my mind just being here and moving. so simple.

i can do that, i know what im doing, im safe, just take your time. no hurry, easy.. (i wish i would always have these thoughts about me)

these are maybe the only moments in my life were everything flows and goes how i planed it. such a freedom and simplicity i never found again in my life.
this feeling and days like this are everything. it brings me back to who im really are. im fully grounded, full of energy and positivity.. this is more than just a passion.. this is my power of life. taken in Berner Oberland by @findmikeoutside

life lately.. 🎢

back to life. ❤️
5 months now into my second life.
still cant really explain what this did to me..
being so close to dead seeing your life passing by, waking up surrounded by doctors telling you "welcome back to life mike" still makes a lot with me..that night going to the hospital feels like a horror movie.. still dreaming about it how from one hour to another i couldnt breathe anymore.. im so grateful to the universe that my time here is not over and i get another chance doing things better and living the life to the fullest. even more then before. a small bacterium (EPIGLOTTITIS with a ABCESS) almost killed me from a bit of pain in my throat to 40C° fever and walking to the hospital in thun almost couldnt breathe to going full speed and blue lights with the paramedics to the specialists at insel spital bern where they had to put me in a coma for 3 days after a life saving emergency surgery. i survived a
mortality rate of 30%.. the first days after waking up were horrible.. hallucinating from a fentanyl & temesta mix.. hungry and not allowed to eat.. super confused and so damn weak i really felt like dying of sickness.. step by step i came slowly back to life. it was hard, its still hard.. i had a nerve damaged during the emergency surgery and my left shoulder muscles is paralyzed. now i have to do physiotherapy for months and hope it comes back. i stay positive!

3 months now back in life..
i think i forgot how it is to just feel healthy.. no pain, no doctors, no tests, no physio, no paralyzed left arm, no medication, not feeling weak and sick but life has other plans for me and i keep my mind strong and my head up. trying to do the best of it and staying positive.. it's really not easy right now. i was diagnosed with PTS (parsonage turner syndrom) or brachial neuritis a rare neurologic disease that damaged nerves and muscles in my body and they still not 100% sure what did this and if it will heal and come back to normality.. from my epiglottitis where i almost died to this syndrome now must be a connection. its very rare like 10 cases in the literature. but im in good hands and i hope time will heal my body from all this. taken in Switzerland by @findmikeoutside

pain is just french for bread.. 🥖
lake thun loop 50k ultra.
first ultra of the year. first one in my second life.
second time on my home lake loop and 20min faster in most brutal conditions. that was mental.. super strong rain, wind, snow, snowrain.. all kind of mixes, wet from the first km and in the end in a crazy snowstorm.. i came home shaking like crazy but it was easy in contrast to what happend 8 weeks ago.. waking up from a 3 day induced coma where i almost died from a epiglottitis. half year ago i broke my ankle on a downhill and 1 year ago someone broke my heart.
but it's all in your head! all the power and strongness starts in your head. with all the pain i could handle in my life i feel like a warrior. a pretty sentimental warrior. taken in Thunersee by @findmikeoutside
