a painting of @thebeguiling that i don’t think i ever shared online. i made this around the time they relocated, 2017ish? new location is still my favourite place to shop in the city ✨ by @findneweyes
WATCH NOW ★ LINK IN BIO SPACE BETWEEN STARS is a film I created & directed at @gurustudioto in 2017-18 alongside an amazing team. A lot of heart from a dedicated team went into bringing all of this to life. It’s a 10 minute animated sci-fi film, a dark little dream, with an amazing score by @jampants. We had a great festival run a few years ago, and now it’s finally time to share what we made with the world, steaming on @watchdust - a perfect platform for the film. I’ll share some behind the scenes art in the near future, but in the meantime go watch SPACE BETWEEN STARS on YouTube! & if you enjoy what you see, please share it with a friend or two. thanks so much ★ by @findneweyes
tomorrow is the release of the second half of lost records: bloom & rage! big day. fitting to share some of my favourite art from the first half swipe for a few screencaps of the finished scene ✨ for those of you who have been playing, hope you enjoy tape 2! …see you in hell 🔥 by @findneweyes
the canary 🐤 when i was in college prepping for my grad film there was a period where i was pretty set on telling a story set in a diner, going so far as to shoot some photoref at the canary - a once iconic toronto location. i ended up leaving the story behind, but by coincidence i now live in this same neighbourhood. the area has changed pretty dramatically in the years since, but regularly wandering around here gave me the itch to dig up those old refs and paint the version of the place i had pictured ages ago swipe for the whole composition ✨ by @findneweyes
the blue spruce ✨ my last series of (mostly) unreleased environment concepts to share for our anniversary! seems a fitting place to end, as designing the blue spruce was my very first assignment on lost records. my earliest work at dontnod! a real pleasure to have helped create the space for our reunion 💙🩷✨✨ by @findneweyes
summertime visits to montreal 💙✨ by @findneweyes
more unshared lost records art ✨ my first paintings of fawn’s rest/curse. interesting to look back at these early concepts and see how the environment evolved! we later added an attic to the interior and reworked the surrounding landscape to support narrative and design needs, but a lot of details stuck around til the end for the people who’ve played - what’s your favourite scene that happens here?? by @findneweyes
happy anniversary to LOST RECORDS 💙🩷💜✨ can’t believe it’s been a year since our launch already! to celebrate i’m going to share some artwork that hasn’t been posted before, starting with this early concept i made for swann’s bedroom. one of my favourite spaces to design & as always our environment team did an A+ job of bringing everything to life ✨ by @findneweyes
Happy Birthday, Kat! Behind that quiet strength is a heart that feels everything: the pain, the rage, the love. You've shown us that vulnerability and bravery are two sides of the same coin. Today, we see you. We celebrate you. 💜 by @findneweyes
last batch of SPACE BETWEEN STARS production paintings - from the climax. painting all those hexagons was a test of endurance..! again shared credit with Elton Lo on these. there are a bunch more we made that i haven’t shared here on insta - i’ll make them available elsewhere eventually still some other behind the scenes work i plan on sharing, but in the meantime the whole film is available on youtube if you want to see these paintings come to life! link in bio ★ by @findneweyes
another batch of SPACE BETWEEN STARS production paintings - some of my favourites from the film. distinct memories of this sequence being particularly challenging, but really satisfied with the results looking back. again shared credit with Elton Lo on these the whole film is available on youtube if you want to see these paintings come to life! link in bio ★ by @findneweyes
