It gives us great pleasure to share our latest Annual Report with you. For over 29 years, we have seen first-hand what giving people in prison opportunities can achieve, and the progress we made in 2025 has propelled record levels of productivity and impact across our programmes.

Our ability to provide crucial rehabilitation in prisons and post-release is made possible through your support and generosity.

As we continue to work within a sector where challenges posed by capacity and staff workload impacts prisons and probation, the Fine Cell Work approach of purposeful work, therapeutic craft, and the development of emotional, mental and financial resilience becomes increasingly vital.

Read more (and download a copy of the report) via the link in our bio.

We were delighted to attend BCL Solicitor’s LLP pub quiz yesterday evening, which was raising funds for Fine Cell Work.

As BCL’s nominated Charity of the Year, their staff team are supporting us throughout 2026 with fundraising initiatives, awareness campaigns, charitable donations and volunteering, and it couldn’t be more fun 💫!

Fine Cell Work’s Victoria Gillies and Lindsay Murphy took part in the quiz… and were thrilled their team came 2nd place out of 17 teams. But as we all know, it’s the taking part that counts, not the silver medal 🥈😉...

We are so grateful for BCL’s generous support for rehabilitative work we do with people in prison and post-release 🙏 by @finecellwork

Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay 🌍️💚.

"Stitching uses up time and is an escape from the four walls, fences and razor wire. When my mental health is poor, stitching is a release from that pain and offers a window on a degree of recovery.”
- A Fine Cell Work stitcher.

This year’s theme is lived experiences heard: real voices, real change. Fine Cell Work’s latest evaluation is the fruit of five years of listening to hundreds of people in prison with lived experience of mental ill-health who have experienced real change.

In this recent formal five-year study it was found that fewer stitchers are indicated to be suffering from clinical or mild depression after nine months of stitching.

Fine Cell Work’s positive impact on stitchers’ mental health shows the potential for prisons to be places of hope rather than despair.

With your help we can work with even more people in prison - support our work now with a one-off or monthly donation of any amount via the link in our bio 🙏.

"I sent this cushion to my sister for her wedding.
She absolutely loves it and hopes that the stitcher knows how much it is appreciated.
The workmanship is outstanding as is the finishing.

Another gorgeous beautiful thing from Fine Cell."

Pamela . T - Fine Cell Work Customer

We loved receiving this review from a customer who chose our Ingoldby Needlepoint Cushion as a wedding gift for her sister.

Part of our Disrupted Geometrics collection, Ingoldby is a bold exploration of colour, form and texture. Hand-stitched in wool using intricate needlepoint techniques, each cushion represents nine months or more of dedicated craftsmanship.

The sister even wrote to the stitcher who created her cushion and sent photographs of it in its new home - a wonderful connection between maker and owner.

"I am so pleased with my cushion! I am always blown away by the skill and workmanship that goes into these beautiful cushions! Everyone that sees them admires them!"

Fiona p. Fine Cell Work customer

Hope is the key. 🔑

More than a message stitched onto a cushion, it’s an idea at the heart of what we do.

Every Fine Cell Work piece is created through hours of skilled hand-stitching by people in prison, providing purposeful paid work, the opportunity to develop new skills and a sense of hope for what comes next.

And we love hearing how much that craftsmanship is valued in the homes our pieces eventually find. by @finecellwork
