Microbia is a collection designed for @fornacebrioni that explores the expressive potential of terracotta through three-dimensional surfaces, shifting plays of light, and details that emerge subtly within the space. The presentation at House of Finemateria in Milan provided an opportunity to share the project and engage with a community of architects and designers interested in material research and contemporary design. ABITANTI, Galleria Luisa Delle Piane, Milan Abitanti is an edition of structures defined by an orthogonal wooden grid that moves through space as a minimal infrastructure, capable of activating relationships without imposing itself as a complete form. Solids trace paths and introduce functions, while voids coincide with what the space already holds, character, intimacy, memory, allowing the project to graft itself without substitution, merging instead with the existing atmosphere of the place. The series develops through proliferation. Some elements inhabit the gallery, others are collected in a manual that acts as a potential archive, an atlas of variations. Six steel bodies, solid and mobile, traverse this framework as temporary presences. They do not complete the object but activate it, suggesting possible uses, as in public space where an unforeseen action transforms a place and renders it recognizable. This project is the result of a dialogue developed over recent months, a collaboration grounded in mutual respect, shared intuition, and a light approach to the design process. We extend our gratitude to Luisa Delle Piane for the trust and the alignment that made this work possible. Collection 0, LACCA MFW SS27 For the debut show of @laccaofficial, the new creative project of Claudio Francesco Ligato, we designed the architectural setting of the show at Chiostro Cappuccio, in Milan’s Cinque Vie district, during Milan Fashion Week SS27. The cloister dates back to the 15th century and is already a complete piece of architecture, so our approach was to honour it rather than compete with it. A cross-shaped runway runs through the cloister gardens and uses the geometry of the space to organise the walk. At its centre, the original well is enclosed by a five-metre mirrored stainless steel column. Its surface reflects the arcades, the sky and the models as they pass, so that figures overlap, multiply and dissolve during the show. The platforms are also in stainless steel. They were conceived as precious boxes, objects that hold a gift inside, and they echo the idea of a first collection offered to the public. The result is a discreet architectural setting that supports the collection and leaves the history of the place in view. The new exhibition at Galleria Luisa Delle Piane includes a selection of our work within the historic room housing Christoph Radl’s permanent installation “Design Kaput” (2011), for which the art director and graphic designer conceived and applied a custom wallpaper across every surface. On view: ABITANTI, 2026 — a series of furniture pieces in sanded and lacquered ash slats. PHU CHAIR, 2024 — a single-material chair in coated expanded polyurethane. WELDED, 2021 — a collection of natural aluminium accessories formed through the intersection of tubes. CUMFORT/UNCOMFORT, 2020 — first project of the studio, a chair in aluminium and polyurethane foam. #Finemateria #GalleriaLuisaDellePiane #exhibition #phuchair #milano by @finemateria

Designed for @fornacebrioni, the new Microbia collection explores the balance between sculptural depth and quiet restraint, offering architects and designers a sophisticated language of material and form. The Clay 3D Coverings introduce a three-dimensional quality to the wall. An extruded curve projects outward from the surface, creating a continuous play of light and shadow that evolves with the shifting hours and the movement of the observer. It functions as a versatile compositional tool, conceived for creating walls that are as tactile as they are dynamic. In contrast, the Clay Floor Tiles develop a quieter, more controlled aesthetic. The “microbe” motif emerges subtly through negative space—manifesting in the joints, the pauses between tiles, and the relationships between the elements themselves. The result is a discreet surface, perfectly suited to both contemporary interiors and historically sensitive architectural contexts. 3DAYSOFDESIGN 10-12 JUNE 2026 10AM—6PM Bredgade 28, 1260 Copenhagen @framing.studio.cph @3daysofdesign Photography: @claudiazalla Press Office: @gc_agency #Finemateria #FornaceBrioni #3daysofdesign #clay by @finemateria
Microbia, the new collection designed for @fornacebrioni, begins with the observation of what cannot be seen: the processes of growth, aggregation and transformation of the organic world, translated into clay through a single biomorphic tile, irregular, almost in motion. 3DAYSOFDESIGN 10-12 JUNE 2026 10AM—6PM Bredgade 28, 1260 Copenhagen @framing.studio.cph @3daysofdesign Photography: @claudiazalla Press Office: @gc_agency #Finemateria #FornaceBrioni #3daysofdesign #ceramic #clay by @finemateria

CHECKMATE | Besana Carpet Lab Salone del Mobile 2026, Milan At the center of the project, the table defines the spatial and relational core of the exhibition. Conceived as the primary point of encounter, it organizes the logic of hospitality within the stand. Its presence is extended beyond the floor into a wall installation where the same table is reinterpreted as an isometric composition in carpet. This translation transforms an object of use into a graphic-spatial diagram, exposing its proportions, structure, and underlying geometry. Through this operation, the project highlights Besana Carpet Lab’s ability to manipulate carpet as a fully architectural material — capable of shifting between object, surface, and representation while maintaining a consistent design language. @besanacarpetlab Projects @finemateria Photography @alice_beltrami_ PR @strategicfootprints #Finemateria #SaloneDelMobile2026 by @finemateria
CHECKMATE, Besana Carpet Lab Salone del Mobile 2026, Milan The stand is defined by a massive, almost monolithic perimeter where architecture emerges as an extrusion of the chessboard itself. Eight solid columns, conceived as volumetric fragments of a larger grid, punctuate the façade with a sense of scale and disruption. These elements operate as both threshold and device: they break the continuity of the exhibition floor, opening the stand to multiple entries while simultaneously concealing its interior. The result is a deliberately ambiguous boundary — at once permeable and opaque — that generates curiosity and delays perception. Rather than revealing the space, the façade constructs anticipation, turning access into a spatial condition rather than a simple passage. @besanacarpetlab Projects @finemateria Photography @alice_beltrami_ PR @strategicfootprints #Finemateria #SaloneDelMobile2026 by @finemateria
